After watching the sunrise over the Taj Mahal with mist rising from the river below, we travelled towards Jaipur. The most fascinating place on the way was the Abrahami step well. A huge upside down pyramid shaped well, 20 m deep With stone staircases leading down.

We entered Jaipur and it's beautiful PinkCity , with red sandstone walls and palace buildings. It really is a stunning place to see. It is wonderfully congested with buses, cars, motorbikes, rickshaws , cows and people and lined with small shops selling all sorts of goods.

Whilst here we also visited Amber fort + saw a sound and light show about Jaipur history. It was v interesting and beautiful with super views. We also saw the City Palace where the king still resides. The most amazing was the 300 year old Royal Observatory, a large garden with huge devises to measure the sky, stars, time and place . It was accurate and told the exact time!

A ricks haw ride through the old city was interesting especially the sari shops in the side streets and seeing ladies examining the gorgeous silks there..

Jaipur has been a lovely place. Onwards now towards Delhi and our final Shabbat in India.

It's all good reading.
It's so clever that we know so quickly exactly what you are enjoying. All very interesting and I loved the elephant parade photo. Shabat shalom.
