We have all arrived in Punta Arenas after our ride to Ushuaia at the bottom of the world (Fin del Mundo)
Leaving Vicuna with threatning weather we made our way to the border at San Sabastian. As there had been a lot of rain overnight, this made for some muddy and challenging riding for some. We stopped for a pee on the way and while parked the bloody wind blew over Noel's KTM. We had been battling the wind now for days on end. As I got onto my bike, I felt a movement through the bars...hmmm why was that? on closer inspection I see that my handle bars are loose, the vibrations from the corrogations and boney road conditions had loosened the bolts, a quike fix and on my way again.
We had a smoothe and trouble free entry into Argentina and made our way down to Ushuaia, with a night spent at Hosteria Kaiken on the way.
The plan was to regroup prior to Ushuaia and ride together to the end of Ruta 3 for a group photo, then head to our hotel. Well the best layed plans..... we never saw Tiny, Rippa or Jack until
later in the day at the hotel, they had been off on their own adventure along the road we were to take the next day. Not to worry, the next morning they rode off to Lapatia and the end of the road for their photo.
We had to get the rear tyre of the truck repaired, as it had picked up a nail along the way, while that was being done, Gerardo went and bought a new light bulb for the truck and I proceded to replace it, all good and ready to go..NOT, as I had replaced the GOOD one, silly me, as I had been looking at the failed bulb in my mirrors since we had left Santiago, and was sure it was the right one!! on top of that Gerardo threw the 'good' one away before we had noticed.
We took a ride out to the Humberton Estancia, which is (was) the largest land holding in the Patagonia. We had a quick lunch and then a tour of the buildings and learned the history of the place. They also have a museum there where they display the sceletal remains of many sea mamals and birds,
Fin del Mundo
We all made it...well Tiny Rippa and Jack made it the next day! it was all very well presented.
We returned to Kaiken for the night and prepaired our selves for the 550 km ride up to Punta Arenus.
Leaving by 8.30 am, we again battled that bloody Patagonia wind all the way to Punta Arenas, arriving around 6.00 pm.
We have a couple of days here for some R & R also some of the bikes needed a bit of attention. Dave's KTM has a weaping clutch and needed a new rear tyre along with Jack's leaking front fork seals, that needed to be replaced. I only got 5,500 kms out of the rear TKC 80, as normally I would get be able to finish the adventure on one set, but due to the wild cross winds that we have been ridinging, obviously has taken it's toll on the rubber.
We got the truck washed and replaced the correct blown light bulb as I was to pick Christian up on Friday night (He is the owner of the truck) and will ride with us over the next two weeks.
Today we will take everyone to Gerardo's Estancia for a great Parrillia lunch.
So Hasta Pronto for
now, Rosco.

Wind
Nice to see things are going well. We've had plenty of wind here as well. Wouldn't mind having a ride around the farm again. Take a lighter bike next time. Hope your weather improves, Zane
