Getting My Hair Cut
My first haircut in Russia. It turned out great and the best part, they wash your hair after the cut, not before, and not only wash, but massage your head for awhile...it is nice! If I get it downloaded, you will see me getting my haircut. I am glad Dasha was along to help with the translation, but I like the haircut. I guess this is the lady that does all of the Americans that have lived here, but she does not speak a bit of English. Micheal has been there so many times, he does not need to tell her what needs to be done, she knows so I guess this will be my stylist as well. (And no, I can not remember her name.) It cost me 250 p (~$10) plus tip.
Well Mark, I made an attempt at your Shepard's Pie...nothing like yours, but it was not too bad. It was not better and I think we will just call it Russian Shepard Pie. The instant potatos I had/used were flavor with something. It was not bad, but did not have a nice boiled potato taste and I did not have cheddar cheese so used some white cheese (that is about all you can easily get around here) that was a mild swiss cheese and the can of mushroom was roasted garlic can of mushroom. But if it tells you anything,
Portable Garages
Now let me see most of us get our cars in this "garage". I ate the entire pan of it. It was also good enough to serve to others so I will have Michael and Dasha over for dinner one of these evenings now that I know it does not taste too bad (just very different than Mark's version.)
Go Bucks! As if they should not have won on Saturday, but next weekend will be a great weekend! I am excited about heading to Moscow to shop and see the game. I will be staying at the Courtyard for the night so I do not have to get up so early and/or go to bed so late...lol I will need to get my Buckeyes made later this week, which will be fun. And now, I can not find any more creamy peanut butter so it may be crunchy. It will just add more to the fun to tell the story.
I have also attached the "portable" garage. If you do not like where it is today, just lift it and move it...lol I do not think most of our US cars would fit in it. Be very thankful for what you have; we are very blessed people!
A little technical difficulties (user error) on my part. I started this blog yesterday and saved it to add some more today, like the pictures, then could not figure out how to finish it before publishing so if you get several notifications, sorry about that.
I went to volleyball and did much better. I am not sure if it was the shoes or just muscles in better shape. I will be sore tomorrow, but I will be able to get around. I think my back is going to bother me the most and that is just plain old age! Not many people there so I felt better. I still hate not knowing what to say or what they are saying. Mine, out, good, help, those are close to universals words on the court, but when they are trying to tell you were in the wrong spot at the wrong time, it is difficult, but it is still fun and gets me out exercising some. I did skip the sauna this time. It about did me in last time so I skipped this time.
I did loose my cool today with my Chief Vet. Although I made her life easier by getting IT to add a simple step to the computer system that I did not know was corrected (so there were no thank you for the help on that) only what we could not do as I looked to take it to the next step. All I got was "who is going to do that" and "no, that will not work". I finally said, "Enough, Nina, you have been here for 25 years, you tell me how to fix it!" She said nothing, so I continued, "Until you can tell me a better way, we are going to try this!"
I had to say that to the pest control applicator several times and I think I am going to start looking for a new company. Too many cochroaches running around the lunch room, which is right above the processing plant. He put these mechanical devices out that were big enough to catch a cat; no wonder he told me they would not be effective in catching mice and rats. I brought up a Tin Cat and a Catch-all on the computer and told him that is what I wanted. He told me he did not know where to get them, I told him that is his problem and if he can not get them, I will find a new company.
I also had a few people cheering me at taste panel on Friday because I told the Sales Manager to stop interrupting. I waited patiently for her to stop then as I was adding my comments, she starts talking over my translator. I looked at her and in a loud voice said, "EXCUSE ME?!" I waited on you and now you can hear what I have to say before you continue! She was not happy she got over run, but she and everyone else knew I was right. Our taste panels are a joke to begin with, but that will come in time as I take more of it over.
So yes, I think Micheal and Alan are right, in about another month or so, I will be ready for a break. I can feel it coming on already and I hate when Olga gives me that deer in the headlight look after I say something like she does not have a clue to what I said. So I will start again and then she says, "Yes, I understand." I feel like asking, "So why the dumb look and why are not taking action on the request." So far, I have been nice because she is my life line, but it will come to head here soon.
I do not mean to complain to all of you, but I do not have anyone else to vent to so I write out my frustrations here. Thanks for listening!

really a note to Mark
Nice haircut, Vince. The massage must be a European thing, they do it here too but before the cut. Sounds like you are finally letting the company know the real Vince Kramer. Mark...since Vince is so technical, just think miles are about 1/2 the km (I, too, am just a US girl and just use this shortcut, with all the traffic in Europe, you can never tell how long it will take even if you know how far 20 km are anyway) And I hope you are at least allowing Torque to crawl under the covers to sleep on your feet, but I guess it isn't cool in GA yet. He does like the head the best! Do I need to send him some more toys? Thanks for taking over the cat watch while Vince is on his little adventure.
