Finally the winds have died and we drive up Table MountAin't. The cable car provides a spectacular (and frankly much easier) means of ascent. The views are simply to die for when you achieve the summit. Stunning late afternoon sunshine reflects on The Apostles and the Atlantic and reaches across the whole of the mountain summit. We are struck by the lilies that thrive on the windward side of the mountain at 1700m up - that's impressive. The views across down to the Cape itself are delightful and the sprawl of urban Cape Town stretches far below with Robben Island in the distance. One off the bucket list !
