Chillin w/ Pinto. I may have cowboy hat and chaps on, but im still wearing the grateful dead shirt :) Well the last few weeks here at Papagayo have definitely treated me well. I started doing the mountain biking tours that I originally came here for, did some horseback riding tours, and also led some groups to a lake that has formed in the crater of a dormant volcano. The mountain biking has been the most stressful but also the most exciting of the tours. People get really stressed out when I tell them the brakes are okay, but take a bit to get used to. They would much prefer to have rock tight brakes while plummeting down the volcano, but we have to loosen them a little or some serious accidents would occur. Horse back riding has been really fun and I'm getting damn good I must say. I usually take out the same horse, Pinto, and I think we have that weird relationship that folks have w/ horses. I can make him dance, run at the speed of light ( still undefeated in the races ) and also can make him kick back on his hind legs for a few seconds. I guess I'm a semi-cowboy, and never did I imagine myself saying that ( just because I ride

difficult walk from the car park to the refuge. starting at 4200 meters up to 4800 horses, does not mean I listen to country music however 😊.
I had a few days off last week and spent them in the city of Quito. I had to get off the farm for a day or two and Quito provided the perfect outlet. While in Quito I signed up for the South American Explorers club, where I can get info on trips, volunteer ops, and store some luggage just to name a few benefits. Whilt at SAE i met some cool cats from California that i'll hopefully be joining on a farm in the jungle, signed up for a kayaking course, and signed up for the worlds longest river race.
The kayaking starts sept 4th and lasts 4 days. We will be covering 4 different rivers ranging from class 1 to class 3+ rapids. I've always wanted to take a kayaking course but never had the means to do so, I'm looking forward to this very much. Also, the river race i signed up for is at the end of September and is done in Peru. It's an international race, consisting of 133 Amazonian river miles done by bolsom wood raft that our team needs to construct, Think

Chillin in Cotopaxi Hucklberry Finn stylee. I'm super excited for both the kayaking and the race.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm leaving the farm on Wednesday to go check out other places, mainly the jungle and hopefully working on a farm until the river race in peru.
I think that's mostly it for now, I just wanted to give ya'll a quick update, load some photos, and say hello and thanks to everyone for the comments/messags. I love hearing from you all. I hope everyone is doing great. Miss everyone.
