We all work together in a primary school and one silly day we decided it would be a good idea to walk the West Highland Way. So we are now about to spend the first week of our summer holidays traipsing through mud, scrambling over rocks and boulders, climbing up giant hills while trying to avoid fields of cows, blisters and of course the dreaded 'Midges'. Who had the idea first nobody will admit now. So here we are with a week to go, tired from a busy school term and in need of a relaxing break....packing our walking boots, waterproofs, midge nets, insect repellent and pee ponchos. We usually create a blog for the kids while we are away on residential with them so we thought you could all share our ups and downs as we begin our adventure.

To help us along our way we decided we would use this opportunity to raise funds for the fantastic charity 'CHAS'. CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

They offer care for the whole family in our two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch. They also run a homecare service called CHAS at Home helping families in their own homes across Scotland when they need it most.

They are currently supporting over 300 families, as well as a significant number of families who receive bereavement support.
