(part 2)

We like taking the boys out to play areas or park/grass areas and tonight we found a new place to play - I have no idea how we missed this place. There is some very tall buildings with a shopping malls and restaurants, almost in a square shaped area and there was a large garden area with a little river running though right in the middle of all these tall buildings! There were lots of Chinese families out, children playing and running around. It was so nice to see. The boys spent an hour running around with the other children, crowds of people watching the boys running!! Everyone was so friendly.

we are very lucky to have our driver Mr Lv. He has been a God send. He takes us to and from school/nursery and helps me with my Chinese! He speaks really good English and is great with Matthew and William - Mr Lv enjoys washing the car after school with them!! Its nice to be able to go out of Teda if we want to visit others areas like the Great Wall for example. Last week Andy brought home a little surprise for the boys from work - 10 little new born fish, in a jam jar!! My first thought was where on earth do I buy a fish tank - look no further, Mr Lv knew where and took us there!!

Also we are VERY lucky to have Helen who comes to cook for us 3 days a week. She has been with us for 1 week now and oh my.........the food was so yummy!! Matthew has tried and eaten so much in this one week than what he has in 5 months. He has even had seconds. Its a complete turn around - yay!!! William just dived in and eats everything going!! And Andy and I have enough for lunch the next day!!

We are making the most of our experience here. The days when William is not a nursery we have "mummy and William" days out, mainly to indoor play areas and then I have Matthew time at the swimming pool. Then weekends we spend a lot of our time outside, boys riding their scooters/bikes or at the park. This year is the first school holidays where I am not working so it will be nice spending time with the boys. We are going to have lots of days out and some great adventures!! I think Matthew will have a few blogs to write!!

The thing that amazed me this week - I am so chuffed with myself - I was able to speak to Helen in Chinese and she understood me! It was a great feeling. Helen does not speak any English so this was so nice. It's only a start but I found out where she lives and that she has a son who is bigger (taller) than she is!!

We have a busy week ahead, Matthew is taking part in Water Day at school on Monday. The school will have 8 different Water area activities for the children to have fun taking part in. I will be helping out that day, I can't wait! it sounds like it will be a great day. Then Matthew has a tea party with his class which William and I have been invited to join in and then Wednesday Matthew finishes at 12.00 - it is also report card day!!! Then it is the summer holidays!!! Let the fun begin!!!
