the rowan berries are a sight to behold.
Alex had a day off today, so we were up for a potter round somewhere. But before we left, he had a trip to the doctor to remove an enormous splinter from under his little finger nail. Ouch. We couldn't get it, so it was a job for the professionals.

Anyway, then we popped down to Welshpool, and out the other side, up Long Mountain - where there are some caches hidden. We got 3 nice walks out of it, and explored some lanes we didn't even know were there. We took the dog, but had to drag her for the3rd walk! Poor old thing. As we came back through town, we were just at the right time for fish and chips. A good day was had by all.

there's an Iron Age hill fort, within which is a plantation of beech trees. Its actually quite spooky inside
