Our plan was to visit the Nuremberg court room and visit the DB (Deutsche Bahn) rail museum. Some had recommended that the train museum was a good one. After shower and morning oblations, we headed for breakfast. There is no hot food served here. But the area was very nicely setup with plenty of bread, boiled egg and cheese choices. There were multiple yogurt varieties. Norbert supplied us with a flask full of coffee which was quite good. Our plan of visiting the above museum went for a toss as we checked the internet and realized these are closed on Tuesdays! This was frustrating. We really wanted to see the Nuremberg Trials' museum. After some research, we found out that there is a Natural history museum of Germany in the old town area. All of old town in walkable from the hotel. So we headed to the museum and reached there by 10:15 am. From outside the museum looked small. Again Praveen's ticket was nearly free and we paid only 10 euros as entry fee. This is a BIG museum with 4 floors of exhibits with each floor having at least 20 rooms or so. All the exhibits have descriptions written in both English and German. It is a very well maintained museum covering history of Germany from 2000 BC to the present. One of the very famous painter 'Albercht Durer' is also given prominence here (born in Nurenberg). There were quite a few of his paintings here. Even after skipping an entire floor we had to rush through the exhibits. It took us abou 2.5 hours to cover about 60% of the Museum. Since we had to head to Prague after lunch, we headed back to the hotel. We had checked out before heading to the Museum in the morning. We had left our luggages in the front office for later collection. This owner couple were so accomodating. I will recommend 'smile' hotel, if you visit Nurenberg. We hired a cab from the hotel and headed back to the train station. In our research, in was suggested that a bus journey from Nurenberg to Prague is more convinient and fast. But we wanted to check this out first in the train counter. The interesting part is that DB also owns buses and they take passengers to Prague as well. We got the tickets from DB for thsi bus ride from Nurenberg to Prague. The driving time is 3:45 minutes. Buses ply every 2 hours and we were able to get the 5:30 PM bus. The convieneance of these public places in Europe is commendable. The train station has cloak rooms where you can deposit your luggage using the self lock facility. Charge is 5 euros per locker. We got 2 lockers and dumped our 4 pieces other than the backpack there. We had 3 hours to kill. Kids wanted to go back to the crepe place downstairs. They really liked the Mozzarella/Tomato flavor. Shopkeeper was able to recognize us with big smile. We took care of lunch here. Again the downtown was only 5 minutes from the train station. We headed back to downtown. We browsed shops in the area, walked all the way to the central church. By the time we came back to the train station it was 4:30 PM and it started raining. Our bus leaves at 5:40 PM from the front of the railway station. We were able to get subway sandwiches for dinner (to eat in the bus), checked out our luggage from the cloak room. The bus was ready by 5:20 PM. The bus left on time at 5:41 PM. These guys are very punctual! We reached Prague ahead of time by 9 PM. The journey was uneventful. Daylight stays here till nearly 10 PM. At 9 PM, there was still another hour of light left. We were able to get a cab who would accept Euros. The change would be only be in Crowns. In 10 minutes, we were in the Marriott executive apartment building. We checked into this one bedroom apartment not too far from the downtown. We hit the sack around 11 PM this night.
