"Our Beach"
Ipanema Beach from the outside of our hotel.Waded in the water, took pictures, got chair massage, drank tea and watched interesting people! Gary and I are in Internet in Sao Paulo trying to down load our pics from Rio. The weather was great the last day (of Course) and the Christ the Redeemer statue is tremendous. Cannot explain the feeling looking out over Rio standing at the feet of Christ who looked distinctly Brazilian. Just like Mexico where he looks hispanic! Hope our pictures get posted ok. Had a guide named Antonio who spoke spanish pretty well--he works for the hotel as guide and driver. He gave us a card for future trips and told us he would get us a ´flat´for 2 or 4 people next time. So, Gary and I were thinking that the famous Brazilian Carnival might be a great time to come back. I know many of you will be putting that on your calendars!!
Sao Paulo is a very modern city, all high-rises, cafes on every corner and very fast cars. The buffets are extensive, full of great brazilian foods. Espresso comes after every meal along with unusual desserts. We may have to purchase double seats to haul our chubby bodies back. Ha. Tomorrow we head to the Falls du Iquazcu. Similar to Niagra, in the rain forest
Standing at the feet of Christ
360 degree view of miles of Rio with incredible scenery and lots of big rocks. Last minute addition to our trip while on the way to the airport. Sao Paulo here we come! and about 65 degrees. Will get the insulated underware out. thanks, Dad for the raincoat-- I´ve used it several times. More later.

Great Photo of Rio
Gary and Candy, I'm tracking your travels through S. America. Great pic of Rio. Starla nd I had a house full of people this weekend. Starla's mom from AZ and all her relatives from Indinapolis....12 people in all. Great time though. Now that you "semi-retired" maybe you can come up to St Louis and see us. - R V Smith
