Live at Spiceland

Hello everyone,
it is very late at night but here I am documenting the day. Today was our shopping day in St. George's. We went to the Spiceland Mall and the local artisans market where I picked up a few great souvenirs. Then went to swim in the Caribbean Sea-the water is so clear you can see right to the bottom and the sand at Grand Anse beach is some of the whitest I have ever seen. A little girl named Nia tried to show me how to the do the butterfly because she said I was doing it wrong-not that I am an expert really but neither was she--we laughed together.

This evening we had an outdoor worship/music concert in the parking lot of the mall. THere was a small crowd but all 40 of us sang some songs. I got to play one of my songs-Walk this Road with the full amplification-it was a great experience except for the fact that it was so windy and that my microphone kept slipping. We sounded great-lots of great harmonies- I love that. I get so much joy when I hear 3 or 4 parts in synch-such a beautiful sound. Today is Emancipation Day in the Caribbean (August 1st) so we finished off with One Love by Bob Marley. My friend Joel John from Trinidad and my friend Reuben St. Louis from Canada also played songs from their albums. Joel is very well known in Trinidad and so I joked with him tonight that he was my headliner because he opened for my set.

It was a neat way of ministering and sharing of music in Grenada. Not sure how it would ever fly in Canada. It would be like doing a live concert of worship at Dundas Square or Sherway Gardens. Any way a great experience.

I hope you are all surviving the heatwave wherever you are.

Happy Birthday Uncle Paul and Aunt Donalda coming up this weekend. Julie I hope you are doing well and wonder if Camille has made an appearance yet. Friends wherever you are, thank you for your continued posting of comments-it is great to hear from you. I am grateful for your good thoughts and prayers.

As I said yesterday to my friends Karen, Tilon, Rachel, Ray and Tracy in my base group, I love my life. I am so glad to say that-it has been a while.

I even got up at 545 to watch the sunrise this morning-so beautiful-pictures were taken but will never do it justice.

any way, with that said.

love you all.
take care of yourselves and each other.

blessings,

Katy
