Lynne and Jerry's heaven - Panagoula, overlooking Kalamos and Kastos
Well, here we are in Greece again!

I cannot believe a year has passed since we last set foot on these sunny shores. We expected Spring, with a chill in the air and some showers and needing blankets at night... To our horror it has been around 30 deg almost since we arrived. Fortunately it has cooled down in the evenings and blankets have been needed - but not for long, I am sure....!

We arrived in Greece on 20th April and were met by a very excited - I am happy to say - Lynne and Jerry in Messolonghi and were immediately whisked off to their mountain paradise - Panagoula (above Mitikas, on the mainland near Preveza) - where we received the red carpet treatment! This, of course meant a week-long reprieve from work in the boatyard!

After a day or two of chilling we did a bit of gardening and then we were lucky enough to go on a sight seeing excursion to Proussos - where there is a beautiful 600 or 700 year old monastery - and from there we went on to Mikro Chorio (where we spent the night) then Karpenissi - a ski

Red carpet treatment
resort in the mountains in Central Greece, about 200km from Agrinio. It was about 1700m or so, above sea level and still freezing cold, with snow on the mountains. It looked and felt like we were in Switzerland.

Since it is Spring, there has been an abundance of beautiful flowers and kittens...!

Aw, man....

We stopped in Agrinio to look at fabric to re-upholster the boats. The next thing we knew we were being served boughatsa (like a delicious custard slice, with puff pastry. Soooo delicious). The generosity of the Greeks....

Kostas at his first photographic exhibition in Agrinio. Stunningics.

The incongruity which we sooo love about Greece

A very old house and olive press wheel, in Agrinio

An old cart

This delightful lady offered us various liqueurs made from cherries and berries and we bought some home made berry jam...yummy!
