What happened here last night? As I woke this morning and entered the kitchen I began scanning for evidence. My things were strewn about, an atlas open to a map of South America, my credit card haphazardly stuffed into my wallet, my calendar open to August, the computer fan humming. Is it possible? Could I have purchased an airline ticket in my sleep? After checking my email inbox it was confirmed, not the sleep-purchasing, just that I now owned a ticket to Chile. And then the fuzz started to wear away.

Thoughts from the early morning. Who says 2 A.M. is an illogical time to buy a life-changing airline ticket? Life-changing airline tickets are very expensive and best bought at 2 A.M. when the brain cannot compute the damage being done to the savings account. Spurred on by the idea of crossing an item from my "to do" list I forged ahead. But wait, must first add "buy ticket" to list as now it only says "check ticket prices online". Ticketing complete, must now sleep in order to ignore the sick feeling creeping from my stomach, into my esophagus, reaching the bottom of my throat. Clamp mouth, swallow hard.

I guess now that ticket is in hand, so to speak, I should begin to tackle the feeling of panic I felt yesterday afternoon after reading my phrase book and realizing I did not know the word for duvet cover. Okay, maybe not so necessary, but should probably learn a bit more like, "Can I have an interview please?" or "Do you have any rooms for rent?"

How about "bedskirt"?
Sara, you totally crack me up! I love reading your journal entries. So now that the damage is done, when are you leaving for Chile?

on your way
Sara-congrats on the life changing purchase of a ticket to South America I think Dave and i had the same initial thoughts w/ the pregnancy but as you can see-we are so excited for our new adventure-you will do the same, I only know you to conquer fears and go full steam ahead. You will be great, just remember no getting married over there, Dave has to approve first. We love you
