To cut a long and political story short, we have moved. Somehow finding a ‘bling bling’ 4 bedroom house, with lots of comfortable furniture, actual wardrobes, and a huge garden, complete with lovely neighbours . . . all for cheaper than our place in the fort. Don’t get us wrong, it is also full of cockroaches, mosquito lava in the fountain, massive spiders, a leaky roof, mean tuk tuk drivers, the mosque which reminds us to pray 5 times a day with a loud speaker that may as well be in our living room, starting at 5am!!! For our new contact details ask our parents, maybe just give them a few weeks while we figure it out 😊

We shifted in about the same time Murray’s parents arrived from NZ for a 2 week tour of Sri Lanka. We went to Kandy and looked at the Peradeniya Botanic Gardens, which were beautiful. Then, Temple of the Tooth, Kandy dancers, and the Pinnewela Elephant Orphanage to see the 3 day old baby elephant . . . with the rest of Sri Lanka.

We then headed to Hambantota. While Murray was working, we did a safari at Yala National Park. The

Note the comfy couches, only appreciated by people who knew where we were living previously.
highlight was an elephant group so close you could have touched them, and the sighting of a leopard. There are only a small number of leopards in Yala, and it is really something if you see one. Somehow our open sided jeep didn’t feel so safe with a wild leopard a couple of metres away. Unfortunately we were not fast enough for a photo. We then headed back to Galle to show the Burts the town we now call home.

Very important as many of you decide to visit or not based on our toilet facilities :)

Somehow my $2 shoes from Laos broke, and I was charged $1 to fix one little bit.

Good to see your new home. Made us feel at home especially to see Murray's Mum and Dad enjoying your hospitality. Wish we could visit. Murray looks to have a very healthy tan Makes Jocelyn envious. Love, Jocelyn and Peter
