Feliz Nuevo Ano!

A lot of places were closed this morning for breakfast, found a Panderia close to the hotel. While we were having breakfast a parade came by, even though Christmas Day had past the theme of the New Year Day Parade was about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with Mary and Joseph, the 3 wise men, and Angels. In Cuenca it is very evident that Christ is first, and they have very strong family values. Of course there were also a band, Ecuadorian Dancers and Inca Dancers In the parade.

After breakfast we went down to the main river in Cuenca the Tomebamba River, we walked the riverwalk for several hours. It was so beautiful and peaceful.

After our riverwalk we went to the show with Pastor Matt to see the Hobbit, in Cuenca the new movies that come out are in English with Spanish subtitles for about 3 weeks then it goes to Spanish only. Loved the movie, it was great. Again we had a wonderful day.

When we got back to the hotel we could hear some noise down on the street, they were power washing the sidewalks. They really take a lot of pride in their city by keeping every thing very clean.

The Hobbit!
Not the least bit surprised that you love J.R.R Tolkien...for two reasons: 1) It is UNDOUBTEDLY Christ-centered 2) Roger reminds many of us of Gandalf...lol! Love you guys, ~Chris
