Phuket! Lovely stinky phooey Phuket! It wasn't actually that stinky or trashy at all, not in the rubbish on the floor kind of way anyways.

After a quick ferry over from Koh Phi Phi it was a short bus journey to Patong beach, and to the best accomodation we have had so far, and I had my own room! Merry Xmas to me or to Jonny and Laura depending on how you look at it, no doubt I had been annoying them these last couple weeks but I was sure they were missing me, they just never mentioned it!

As soon as we arrived we headed to a nice little Italian for lunch, not authentic Thai I know but me and Jonny enjoyed another top notch pizza, they really do make good ones over here lol. Then we headed to the main area called Bangla road, now I wasn't sure what to expect but this is by far the craziest place we have been, it is Bangkok x 10, but with added Aussie bars and lady boys and prostitutes galore aswell, it sure was an eye opener! After some good old bartering from Laura as usual for some wireless headphones it was off to a bar for a late afternoon drink, it's become a tradition for us and my favourite part of the day ha. I hope it continues in Oz!

That night we headed to Bangla road, if I thought during the day was crazy then boy was I wrong, we quickly headed to a bar to get away from the constant hassle of ping pong shows and go go girls, it is non stop and they really don't take no for an answer! In the bars the workers all want to play games with you such as connect 4 or jenga but obviously if you lose you buy them a drink so don't get drawn in or your money will go down quicker than your first Chang! We then headed to a club called White Rooms, Xmas hats on and sambucas in hand, not much to report other than lots of dancing, drinking and seeing some people we had met along the way!

Xmas Eve - after waking up early :-----) (I joke) we headed to 7/11 to get a really cheap breakfast, after having two cheese and ham toasties and a chocolate milkshake for less than 2 pound it was off to the beach! It was a bit cloudy so neither of us really bothered with suncream, 4 hours later and that stupid decision was for all to see in how bright red we were, typical Brits! Xmas eve dinner was down a nice lil street near our hotel, fried rice with chicken for me whilst Laura urged Jonny nicely to try the hot chilli beef, if he wasn't sunburnt in the face before the meal then he sure was after ha, oh and our waitress/waiter (delete appropriate) was of course a ladyboy, that's just normal though right!?

Back to Bangla road we went and the same bar, Laura and Jonny decided to head home after a couple drinks but as is Xmas eve tradition back home I decided to stay out, bucket in hand! Now I was introduced to a new game of trying to hit a nail into a wooden block in one go, easy I thought, wrong! You have to use the other side of the hammer so it was virtually impossible, of course all the workers could do it and as usual whoever lost bought a drink, to cut it short I made it home about 4am and my wallet was empty!

Xmas day - so after waking up early again lol, it was a strange feeling for all, it was just a normal day and we decided to spend it on the beach, only after a full English though, had to make it feel a bit like a normal British Xmas lol. Then it was Skype time, it was really good to catch up with everybody back home and get jealous of them getting ready for traditional Xmas dinner, of course we were in a bar having an ice cold Chang in just our swimwear but you can't help miss the British Xmas season. I also got to meet Jonny's parents for the first time over video chat on Skype, and they agreed that we did look like twins lol. Hope you enjoyed your turkey David & Lynda! For Xmas dinner we headed to a really nice street with loads of little restaurants on that we just happened to stumble upon earlier in the day, of course we didnt have Xmas dinner but the food was good and really cheap so we couldn't complain.

After dinner it was back to Bangla road as you may have guessed, this time we headed to the prestigious tiger bar, check it out on the Internet, it is crazy, two floors high and stretching back at least half a mile I would say! There are dancers everywhere and it is themed like a jungle inside with loads of little bars dotted all over the place, definitely worth a visit just to say you have been there if nothing else. After a couple drinks Laura and Jonny decided to head off home and release a giant lantern on the beach in doing so, I saw the pictures the next day and it looked pretty impressive, but as you probably guessed or hit the nail on the head I stayed out and actually did hit the nail on the head but not first time so drinks were on me again! Damn these Thai's are good lol.

Boxing Day and Laura and Jonny decided to treat themselves to a Thai massage, unfortunately Laura had the small pretty girl and Jonny had the bigger girl or even man, it was hard to tell so he said lol. I stayed at the hotel and finished packing, our flight back to bangkok was around 5 but we had to head off about 1 in a shared taxi which was with 2 crazy American girls! They were very nice but my head was a tad sore still and one spoke like the bit in bridesmaids where the girl is drunk on the plane, high pitched and loud but what did we expect!

Anyways I am writing this as we are at the hotel near the airport waiting for our flight to Sydney tonight. Thailand has been crazy, wet, sunny and fun all the way, have met some great people and shared some amazing experiences, but the journey is only just beginning and next is 10 days in Sydney, in a 6 bed dorm, should be interesting to say the least! I hope you have enjoyed our blogs so far, we will keep doing them in Oz but there may be a bit more time between each one. We wish everyone a happy New Year's Eve and we shall report back soon!

Love Jonny Laura and Sean xx
