Shanghai nights (well actually night!)

We headed for Shanghai at over 300 kph on the high speed train from Beijing, it covers the 1000 miles in under 5 hours zzzzoooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmm……



Once we arrived in shanghai we’d Phils new phone to guide us to the hostel… we got lost as soon as we got out of the train station then the battery went flat – stoopid Samsack made in china crap!! Headed out for a walk once we left our backpacks off, so many skyscrapers and overhead roads and train lines, we walked for about 30 mins without being able to see the sky, almost feels claustrophobic!! The city at night is a pretty awesome sight, each high rise is lit up - god help the person who has to change the bulbs! We spent the next day in the city sooo many shops.. and headed down to the Bund to watch the lights being turned on when it went dark.. its like xmas every night here!!

The first night in the hostel bar I got attacked by killer mosquitoes, over the next day or so my feet started to swell up until I couldn’t even see my ankles and five big pus blisters came up – not a good look.. the mosquitoes won’t even come near my feet now! For the last two days I’ve been out of action! Didn’t really feel we missed out on too much here I think a few nights is enough for Shanghai, think it’d be hard to go to any city after Beijing.



Well that was our time in Shanghai.. 30 hour train Hong Kong tomorrow, possibly staying there for Halloween –I’m going as big foot!!

That looks nasty dude! Have you got an antibiotic? In Ibiza Mary got attacked by mozzies and her ankle went up the same... turned out to be cellulitis which needed an antibiotic to sort properly. Hope you're back on your feet soon!
