Hello,

We spent 2 nights in Foz do Iguacu which is on the border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. It was a flying visit but it was an amazing place. We went to see, what are considered to be, the second biggest waterfalls in the world!! Over 1300 cubic meters of water cascade down them every second!!! That is such a lot of water that unless you are standing near them getting wet from the spray, it is difficult to understand quite how much water it is!

The waterfalls are in a national park which is set in a rainforest. This means that people protect the rainforest and waterfalls from damage by trying to preserve it. It also means that it is a haven for wildlife. Whilst we were there we saw lots of amazing animals and insects, such as butterflies, caterpillars, spiders, Coati (a pest a bit like a raccoon) and lizard. The butterflies were particulary beautiful and had such interesting patterns and bright colours on them.

Take care,

Miss T
