Dear Max, Dominic, family and friends,

I am learning about how to write a travel blog because I thought it would be a great way for you to see what I am doing. I am mainly writing it for Max and Dominic. I can put photos on it and write stories about what I have been doing.

When I was travelling on the plane to Europe I had to wait for a few hours in Singapore. There was a free tour to see the city. Singapore is a country with more than 5 million people all living on a small island. There are huge buildings like the ones in the picture. It was very hot! The tour guide said they only have two seasons, not four like New Zealand. Their seasons are "hot" and "hot and wet". I was glad it was just "hot" when I was there.

In Paris I am staying in an apartment right by a canal called "Canal St Martin". It is a nice place to stay. We are living on the sixth floor. It is a tiny house with only three rooms! From the window you can see a church in the distance called "Sacre Coeur", which means "the Holy Heart of Jesus". One day, we walked up to the top of the hill that the church is on. You can see a beautiful view of Paris from there. We had a tradional meal in a french restaurant - it was very delicious but Justin couldn't finish his meal of liver covered in garlic sauce ... The restaurant was very traditional as well. In France, that means that the waiter acted as if he was in a bad mood for the whole meal and the owner's dog came up to us to see if we would feed him anything! We could have eaten snails, but they cost about $4 per snail so I decided not to.

Another day, we visited a beautiful Art Museum called "Musee d'Orsay". Lots of pictures from Art Books that Mum has are hung up there and they were beautiful to see. The museum is inside a big building that used to be a railway station. On the top story there are enormous railway clocks that you can look through to see the city below. Can you see the lovely buildings in the centre of Paris through the clock window?

Yesterday we went to see the biggest, most amazing palace in all of Europe, where the kings of France used to live more than 200 years ago. It is called Versailles and it is the largest most amazing Palace I have ever seen. The photos give you some idea of how enormous and beautiful its gardens are, as well as how huge the palace itself is. The Palace would stretch from St Martins School all the way to the doctors on Wilsons Rd - so big! Inside it is very opulent. It is hard to imagine anyone living in a place like that.

Today we had lunch looking down at the Eiffel Tower. A huge fountain was gushing out enough water that it could easily put out a fire in a house.

Paris is an amazing city. I hope you come to see it one day for yourselves.
