Well I did have good intentions to keep this up but as some of you know I wanted to to go North and then take a few weeks to relax by the ocean in Hua Hin and Jometien. Jometien is in Eastern Thailand and Hua Hin is in the west both are on the Gulf of Thailand. Well that is what I have been doing. My Kobo has become my best friend. The downloading of books from my own account at the Halifax Library works every time, it is so convenient. I am currently in Hua Hin I found out pronounced whoa hin. I was going we to rent a house but the one I wanted was gone by the time I got here and two other leads did not pan out either. So I settled for a room in a small guest house 5 minute walk to the Beach. Basic but very comfortable and the air works well! Being here in July is sure different than September it is Very hot but unlike Canada they are not fixated oN the weather so it is very hard to find how hot it is. I know it has not gone below 30 in the day time and I think some days were in the 40 plus range. Result I have a miserable chest cold but a pharmacist sold me a dissolovable medication and it seems to be working.

As in my other trips I have met many interesting people. From a 79 year old gentleman from Australia Who sat and had a few beers with me. His wife haddied and he was taking a short vacation. He could not stay long because his son needed him to take care of him as he was in poor health! A most enjoyable evening.

There are a large number of Swiss, German and Dutch families here. Thais are interesting a l to want to be whiter and then all theevery white families are on the each trying to get darker. The Thais think they are crazy. This is also a golf city many courses, lots of people here on golfing vacations. I think I should take it up but with this heat it would be a long day.

I head back to Bangkok in a few days to meet up with my friends there, one is just back from a q hick trip to England where is best friend is terminally I'll so we will need to cheer in up! Then the working part of the trip will begin. I have volunteered at an orphanage on the Thai Myamar border called Bandan. I contacted them to finalize plans yesterday but have not heard exactly what date they want me but it should be next week or the week after. I will be teaching a bit of English and doing whatever physical labour they may need help with.

That will be a much more interesting read than my days on the beach so I will try to keep you up to date. Till then.n,
