Hello all

We have arrived in Thailand after a very long journey. The flight to Bangkok was fine and then we got delayed getting the internal flight down to Koi Samui. Apparently there were technical problems with the plane so they transferred us to a smaller one after a long wait. Daniels face was quite amusing when he saw the plane as it was very small (and had 2 propellers where there should have been 4 jet engines) and he is not a great flyer. I tried to re assure him that smaller planes were safer as lighter, fly nearer to the ground so not as far to land if crashes and that propellers were good (could not think of a reason why). Once dosed up with sleeping tablets and half a bottle of Rescue Remedy (thanks Kel)he was fine. Anyway landed in Koi Samui about 7pm on Friday evening (12pm your time) and went straight to the hotel. Very nice but too tired to look round much so grabbed dinner and then went to bed and slept for 12 hours! Felt much better Saturday (today) so once up and had breakfast we decided to head straight over to Koh Phangan the other island a short ferry ride from Koh Samui. We had a great crossing and managed to get burnt (already) thanks to Daniel advising me sun tan lotion not needed (large note to myself don't listen to him again).lt's overcast today but quite a relief as very hot and stuffy. We have found a hotel called Phangan Buri which we have decided to stay at for the next 9 nights until we fly back to Bangkok. Seems quite a posh hotel and is like paradise with a pool and restaurant on the beach plus spa facilities (having a massage tomorrow). We have spent the afternoon by the pool relaxing as still getting over the jet lag and time difference and get a great view of the sunsetting from here. Have carried my bag for about a total for 20 mins so far and feel this is enough, the hotel has porters for all that but I think my luck may run out when my group starts. Decided to stock up on relaxation and not doing alot for the next few days to prepare myself for whats up ahead. It is fantastic hear though and I pity you all at work, childcaring etc and I will keep you updated. Will try and attach photos that have taken so far but not sure if works so bear with me. Anyway must go and shower before going to dinner at a lovely restaurant on the beach in the warm climate with a glass of wine and not much to think about for the foreseeable future. Love Becky. (note from Dan - I just said it was a short boat ride and that she would probably be okay. If its any compensation, my face is a bit pink too)
