Hello, hello, it's good to be back! Sorry I haven't been more productive lately, you see, I've been on a more conventional style holiday in Goa...
The setting for the first two and a half weeks was Palolem beach: with It's two kilometres of gently sweeping golden sand, hemmed in on either side by two palmed headlands, one of which moonlights as Green Island at high tide; enveloping the beach in a perfectly formed crescent, creating in affect, a sand-lined, warm-watery palm-fringed womb.
The natural calming affect of this beautiful setting is accentuated by the contrastingly chaotic, dusty, hassling, overpopulated concept of 'real India' which prowls menacingly on the verges of every visiting travellers imagination. Creating a timeless feeling of never wanting, or having to leave.

A small minority of hardcore re-offenders populates Palolem, staying for months at a time and returning year-after-year. Providing a cultural thread that weaves the season's experiences, gossip and friendships together, and underpins Palolem's traditional soul. Add to this constant wave of new arrivals, who bring an inexhaustible injection of energy, without which Palolem would surely stagnate, and you have the perfect blend in the perfect location.

And although there is no doubting that Palolem is a tourist enclave, it's an enclave of such concentrated variety, with visitors from all corners of the world, you'd be hard pressed to find such an eclectic mixture of characters anywhere else in India.

I was taken under the wing of Patrick, (The original travel guru) and Susie (The International singer/song writing sensation). Who I'd met some 4 years ago in Guatemala, and to whom I owe a heartfelt debt of gratitude for enabling me to hit the ground running; For as repeat offenders themselves, they introduced me to a world I may have missed as a casual visitor. Introducing me to the best eats, and nights Palolem has to offer.
