So I finished my Advanced Open Water dive this moring. Last night I dove ot of the Parots dive boat into the dark waters above the Labrynth. I was a little freaked out t the possibility of seeing some nurse sharks or a barracuda but none materilaized out of the blue gloom. Granted I stck to my instructor die buddy very tightly. I lights illuminated the vid reds and purples of the coral and the odd bright yellow eyes of crabs and lobster. We spotted a gigantic Lobster thta could ave easily fille a large platter. Sorry buddy but I love sea food. At one point we sat on the sandy bottom and truned out lights inward to our bodes. Out of the ark, lights materialized like a Disney move of animals in the woods. There was an organism thta glowed in successive asending strobes right before my hands. I felt like a magician. Wow what a difference thta mde to my perception of the world and particulary the great ocean.

So what were you doing at 10 am this moring? I was at 100ft staring at a slightly obscured hulking, mulit/coloured mass of steel, a freighter called the Haliburton on my first Deep Dive. I was tested for Nitrogen Narcosis but I did not have it. Then my instructor, Alison and I explored the ceatures atached to the hull. So amazing are the creatures f these waters. There is a spider crab, a delicate crusacean of deep purple and luminesent yellows. large parrot fishand some very impressive angel fish. I was elated to be past 30ft let alne at 100ft. i never thought i would e so far down in the ocean. At the next dive, Peak Performace Bouyancy, we spotted a snow white octupus on the sandy bottom. It changed colour as it sped away from us along the sand, from white coral to a dirty bown algae colour. Then swoosh it found a hole and stuffed its boneles body asfar as it could into the hole. I felt bad for scaring the crittter but I couldnt take my eyes off it. next I spotted a baby brown moral eal slithering away amongst the scattered coal. I got my instructors attention by banging a carabiner against my air tank. She come over in a hurry and spotted it as well. i got a high five and a Ulitian hand shake for my good eyes. I love it underwater. All your worries melt away and you see the most amazing and beauiful things. Paadise Found!
