Thursday 8th March, 2012.

Wow! I can't believe how quickly my leaving date has caught up with me! I still have a few things left to do, but the majority of my packing is done, and I should be able to finish all my remaining tasks today, leaving the weekend free to... panic! Ahh! I am starting to get so nervous now. It feels so strange saying goodbye to everyone and knowing I won't see them for 5 months. What's worse is that Sam is going on his own journey on 15th June, and he won't be in the UK when I get back. I have to wait 8 months to see him! His trip is due to end in October and I'm flying out to Chicago to meet him there for a wedding we've been invited to. That's right, I've already booked my second trip this year and I haven't even left yet!

Last week I had 3 separate leaving parties and it was lovely to see all my friends one last time. Needless to say my liver was adequately punished. I'm taking a break from booze this week and I doubt I'll do much drinking in Sri Lanka, so hopefully it will forgive me*. I have attached some photos, and those of you who are paying attention will notice I've had a haircut. I loved my long hair but I think it will be more practical to keep it short for my travels.

Right, I had better go... still got so many things to do!

*Edit: Apparently there will be drinking in Sri Lanka, oh well! :P
