So, yes, after I got my stuff stolen I kinda just hung out in Dublin. Went to the Irish Tourist Assistance office the next day and cancelled credit cards along with being given several vouchers for food and clothes.
Spent the day getting chargers at Peats and getting the essentials at Dunnes and Penny's before calling it a night. Not a hugely productive day.
Next day went on free (for staying 2 nights or more in the hostel) Kilkenny tour. Saw an old monastic city (it's the city of St. Kevin at Glendalough), the Browneshill Dolmen (a portal tomb from ~3000BC), and the city of Kilkenny. Climbed up a really tall stone tower in Kilkenny beside a church that I thought the driver said was free but it turned out to be 2.5 euro. Just walked around and then went back on the bus and then back to Dublin. Changed rooms (Yay! Out of the basement!) and then went out to check out the stock of the North Face store I saw in the Temple Bar area (not very good) and two camping stores (decent). Stores close at 6:30 though so no time to get anything.
Next day
I went to the heritage museum with a girl from Whitby (Rebecca) who went to Guelph and worked at OVC! Wandered around the main exhibits and then I left to try and find the Canadian Embassy in order to get the booklet that lists all the Canadian embassies around the world. Couldn’t find it. Instead I bought a compression sack and used one of my coupons to eat the messiest hamburger ever. Looked around the malls and almost went to see the Book of Kells but then decided 8.5 euro was too much. Back to the hostel. Kristen, a lady from LA who shared my room in the basement from before, donated her genuine leather jacket to me! It’s super heavy and thick and it's way too big but it’s warm and I like it.
Woke up and decided to go on a free (not including tips) 3 hour walking tour. Saw Dublin Castle, Trinity College, heard lots about the older history of Dublin (pre 1900s) but I didn’t really find anything worth taking a picture of. After the tour was over I quickly walked to the camping store I knew had good prices for backpacks (from online research)
and spent some time checking them out before buying a sleeping bag and new backpack. Got my refund from the hostel that night (because I paid for the 10 day tour and only went on the 6 day one) and I also talked to the assistant manager who let me go on the Connemara tour for free the next day.
Up early for the Connemara tour! Got to sit in the front which was nice for the first hour or so but the driver/guide was just a bit too keen on talking to me so soon I was desperate to move to the back. Stopped in the little village of Cong and took some photos of the church there. Moved on through the countryside and down into the famine valley which would have been very nice to see if it wasn’t so misty and cloudy. When we were stopped a ‘chancer’ pulled up in his car and tried to sell us an obviously stolen camcorder. There was also a LCD TV in the back seat of his car. No one in the bus was interested and no one was impressed. I was really annoyed because I know that my
stuff could have already been sold the same way. Next stop was Kylemore Abby where I got to know Gary and Erin (a father and daughter on the tour). They were both really nice to me and even paid my entry into the Abby which I wouldn’t have otherwise bought. The Abby was used as a school run by Nuns until just last year. It would have been a really beautiful place to go but there wouldn’t have been much to do outside it. A quick stop in Galway and then I was able to jump into the back seat (yay, no more talking!) and we drove back to Dublin.
Only about 3 and a half hours of sleep and then I headed off to Dublin Airport! No questions at all from immigration officer in Munich and no stamp on my passport. They just took it, looked at it and gave it back. My new bag got off nice and quick and then I hopped on the train to take me to the main station. It was about -10 when I got here and there was snow covering the ground. I circled the station for a while before I

Notice anything strange about this photo? I uploaded it upsidedown! Hard to tell though, isn't it. recognized a street that matched the ones on my ‘expertly’ hand-drawn map. Found my way to the hostel and then didn’t leave the room the rest of the day. Still had insurance things to work on. Still do.
Went down for breakfast the next morning with my two roommates (Erin and Laura) and then typed away on my computer before I ventured out looking for a post box, a vegetable to eat (I haven’t had a vegetable in so long ;_😉, a photocopier, and a card. The post box was right outside the hostel, they offered to let me use the photocopier at the reception, and the reception also happened to have postcards which I might buy tomorrow. They didn’t have any vegetables though and they didn’t have a card either. So out I went and I wandered around before finding myself back at the main train station where I got an interesting slice of pizza. It was a cheese pizza with three full sized slices of tomato and three circular slices of cheese on it. It had a vegetable (well, technically not) on it at least! So now I'm back to the hostel typing up of my adventures/(hopefully)
posting pictures/doing more insurance crap/more planning what I’m going to do after Venice. The internet is really bad here though so I may not get to upload the pictures. But I'm moving hostels tomorrow and hopefully the internet will be better there.

Hey, if you're eating pizza, you're eating a vegetable. According to America at least =/ Pizza's a veggie now...
