Start the Game
We have had an exciting weekend in Palm Springs! Saturday we attended the Humana Golf tournament. Started out to be a beautiful day and we saw Bill Clinton, Phil Mickleson, Micheal Bolton and many other golfers and celebs. Then came the wind. Play was suspended and the Coachella valley was filled with wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour The air was full of sand. Just like a Saskatchewan blizzard! Many huge trees have been blown down in the valley and lots of debris everywhere. Cars, roofs, power lines and property damage can be seen everywhere. Now two days later there are still people without power.

Sunday was a much nicer day and we took in our first Polo game. Lots of fun watching the amazingly athletic horses and riders. Six chuckers of seven minutes each make a game with riders changing horses each chucker. Riders hold on with the strength of their legs while one hand holds the reins and one the mallet. Fast and exciting with lots of scoring.

Today we were back in the mountains hiking and enjoying the cool day. Back to 80 degrees by Thursday. Life is good!
