Hola mi Amigos,

So I left my travel companion of over 2 weeks and headed in the opposite direction. This after I found out that my favorite animal in th world died, my family dog, Shasta. She was a noble girl and a good friend although a chicken in a stomy night. Used to hide in the shower. Bless her heart.

So I left Deryn in Guatemala scity with a short hug and a kiss and hopped in a cab and then a bus and then a minibus an then a cab and then to a hostel in Chiquimula. love that name. Just say it to yourself. Cheeky mula. Love it. i ae a personally cooked meal by a lovely man named Jorge while watching a religious procession sing an amzig harmonious melody that made all man made noises stop. It was magical. the incese permeated the air and he melody lifted my soul. It was just the thing ater an 8 full hour travel minus he waiting time. I slept like a baby with the fan blasting my sweat soaked body. Woke up tooeraly. by the way the LP guide sux. There are so many times I have woken early tohunt down breakfast to find thta the place has either closed for business and the ours are diferent or it is not even there. Oh well thta's what travelling is about. the best deals are on the street anyway and a good breakfast of mano and fresh bread is always good.

So thta morning at 530am I went to hunt for a bus across the border to Honduras. It is easy in a paper plan but confusing when you are tossed about between slep and minibuses ad strange language phrases. But it was too easy in the end and now I am in Honduras after 3 more uses, a contiki taxi a long walk down a dusty road, a jump on to a moving flat bd and another short ride in the ack of a pickup truck. Thanks to all those wonderful GUATEMALANS AND HONDUANS FOR PUTTING UP WITH MY BROKEN SPANISH. Me te gusto mucho.

Mi gusta mucho Honduras, perro hablo un poco espanol. It is bad. I need to practice my Spanish cause I suck and it is a great opportunity to make fun of oneself in a foreign language or at least make the locals laugh at you intentionally. So I am now on Utila, I have been here for 8 hours and I can already see why people never leave. I was going to go with my good friend Deryn's suggestion of Alton's Dive Shop but I was distracted by a hockey mirage in the Expat bar in La Ceiba. I crossed the room in a daze. My eyes growing accustomed to the glare of the foreign matter below the players feet, ice! A Few canucks had come down from paradise to practice the ancient Canadian cusom of drinking beer, back slapping and fist smashing in the hopes of coaxing there team to the Stanley Cup. For you non-canadians, that's the big shininy thing they all kiss and drink hard liquor out of if they win.

Mny beers were had and people introduced, it was meant to be. Met an amzing snake man, Chad from the States. He has been studying th pink Boa on Gariauna Island and working with the locals to study and protect the species. It is a dwaf species of boa that changes from pink to an off grey to camoflage itself from predators. Met Darcy, a chraming man on a mission. he is trying to bring canadian Orca style regulations to the Whale shark tourism. he has launched his own NGO and is trying to make a difference in a Big way. These are my kind of people. On his reccomenations and in the theme of goig with the flow I hooked up with parrots Dive centre and Signed up for an OW dive course. Unfortunately, I have come down with a cold from sitting on too many damn Airconditioned buses. You travellers out there. Don't do it. It's too much of a shock to the system to go from tropical heat of +35C to brain freezing 19C. I will wait a few days to acclimitize and study my books and then I will try this diving stuff everyone says is as good as sex. It better be. !0)
