Hilton Hawaii Village Text
Saturday, March 26. I keep waking up at 2:30 my body clock thinks it is 7:30. So we got up early and planned our day to Diamond Head.
First things first, we need to move to the Hilton Village today, to meet my friends. So we checked out and got the bus to the Hilton, where they stored our luggage until Cherie and Rick arrive this evening. Time to move on.
Next we began our wait for a bus to Diamond Head, when a limo came along. He matched the bus price, if we all, the group waiting, went with him to the trailhead. So off we went in a limo! One fancy way to begin a hike!
The Diamond Head Volcano Monument leads to the summit of Le’ahi. One enters the crater through a tunnel and begins the paved trail but then quickly turns to dirt, up a rather steep incline. The trail continues up with switchbacks, and onto several steep stairways and again through a long narrow tunnel, which is lighted, and more steps. Add into this mix, a very humid day and hot weather and
Limo
This is the first time we road in a limo to do hiking it equals a sweaty hike…but the view is worth it.
We had a picnic lunch after returning to Waikiki and got ready to go out to Pearl Harbor. We are becoming “the bus” experts. The USS Arizona was out of tickets when we arrived. This is Spring Break Vacation and everything is crowded. We went through the museum and took lots of pictures.
We took the bus back and did some food shopping at the Ala Moana Mall. Hawaii is expensive!!
Cherie and Rick arrived, exhausted from the flight etc. Goodnight!

Great Food & Entertainment
If you're still in Oahu, stop by Willy's in the International Market for some great food and live music. It was my favorite place when I lived there! AND the Wialana Cafe has tasty macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup..can't leave without tasting these. The wialana cafe is cheap and has great food..also has a lounge area and kareoke. The cafe is just around the corner of the Pavillion building(on Kalakua Ave) so not far if you're staying somewhere downtown. - Gina
