on the morning of the 30th of November, we checked out of our ok $18 dollar a night hotel room in Luang Prabang, Laos to catch an afternoon flight to Hanoi, Vietnam. We arrived just past sun down, so after breezing through customs at the airport we hired a taxi for the 30 kilometer ride into the heart of Old Hanoi city. We then commenced to walk around the old town for an hour inspecting budget hotel rooms, until finally settling on an oddly fashioned one for a modest $14 dollars a night. After showering up, we went out and enjoyed an evening dinner and stroll around Hanoi.
