This is the view from Shaun & Lu's deck in Kommetjie - where all of the i-to-i volunteers have stayed on our first night in town. You can hear the surf from the Atlantic... absolutely divine.
Well Hello!

I haven't updated in awhile but there is so much to say, it seems a little daunting!

I have posted pictures that one of the girls has uploaded from her camera.

I will have to make this entry quick! (surprise, surprise) Right now I am manning the front desk/reception/switchboard at Sarah Fox because the regular receptionist is sick... time is running out to waste away the afternoon on the web because our ride comes soon.

Well, my ankle is back! I haven't mentioned anything up until now to stem the worry from mum - Hiking in France I got a horrible horrible blister. Draining it (yes, with a sterile needle) was ok until after another day working on the slope, carting rocks across "the great wall of St. Victor la Coste" HIGH HIGH up the mountainside and another night in bed. The end result? A horribly horribly painful, swollen, red and hot ankle that necessitated a visit to the doctor. "Oh My!" was everyone's response when they saw my ankle - including the doctor and pharmacist. hahaha Anyway, I gave the Doctor $40 to drain my blister again and prescribe antibiotics that did the trick

The beach at Shaun & Lu's - where I did not venture because it was chilly & rainy!
by the end of last week. 😊 ta da! all better!

Last weekend with my healed extremity the girls & I spent it in Cape Town at a gorgeous hostel, shopping, bar-hopping and trying to will away the clouds so we could head up Table Mountain! Alas, our efforts were in vain & on little sleep, we made our way back home instead.

Time is now up! I will write more again soon! Maybe this weekend while the girls go see the penguins on our trip to Simon's Town & Cape of Good Hope/Cape Point.

Until Then!

Penguins!Penguins!
Penguins!

These African Penguins (aka Jack-Ass penguins for their noises) are very small. These are similar to the ones I saw while getting sudsy feet in the rain in Simon's Town my first Monday here.

One of the dishes served at the Africa Cafe was pumpkin slices dusted with cinnamon & sugar. We are proud of Becky, our crisp & chocolate girl for tasting the pumpkin!

Another great restaurant and bar in Cape Town where the all of the girls had crocodile kabobs (!! It is white meat - the flavour of chicken but with more kick and the consistency of pork) while I had a FANTASTIC stuffed squash & cleaned off my whole plate.
