Busy day!

We moved from our original accommodation in Chiang Mai - SK House Soi 9 Muan muang rd, wouldn't really recommend it, it was fine, like clean but very basic, and weird kind of atmosphere, and moved around the corner to Sripoom. We had to sit in reception for a little while waiting for our room to be ready but this was fine with us, as we had access to wifi again after 2 days going without!!

The guesthouse is owned and run by a lovely thai couple, they were feeding us local fruit while we waited. These were the Thai king and queen of fruit, Durian and Mangosteen, Mangosteen was really yummy, Durian is nice too but quite heavy and you have to eat the mangosteen after for balance!

There's a really nice atmosphere, the couple even invited us to go swimming with them! Like on their family trip! They are so welcoming!! We spent a little while sorting out our bags and that, and chilled for a little while!

Wifi meant we could catch up on our Viber phone calls and get the blog and photos updated!

We had a cooking course in the afternoon, in a place just a short walk from our guesthouse, so we headed over there to get our cook on!
Would really recommend the course, it was great fun, and we got to eat our own dishes which were surprisingly delicious!!!

I made Thai chicken soup, green curry, chicken with cashew nuts and for dessert Mango with sticky rice, sounds weird but its really yummy! Rosie made Prawn Tom yum soup, Massaman curry, pad thai and banana spring rolls for dessert! We were amazing even if I do say so myself! The instructor of the school is some famous Thai TV Chef, and the guy who helps her was so funny, he had the most evil laugh and was a real messer, kinda reminded me of Naboo from The Mighty Boosh! He was cool!

So there were 11 of us on the course, and we all went for a drink together afterwards to New Bar!(the one that puts beef in Seafood pasta, and scrambelled eggs and ham in Bolognaise!) There were 2 English, 2 Americans (on their Honeymoon), 2 other Irish (from Donegal) and 3 french ( 2 parents and their young teenage nephew). The group was really nice and every one got on very well!

Obviously the 4 Irish were the last left in the bar, Rosie and I, and Gemma and Charlie from Donegal, Gemma had gotten really badly sunburnt during the day while out mountain biking with no sunscreen on. This girl would prob beat Rosie in the paleness stakes, so she must be nuts! Anyway, Rosie had spotted an aloe vera plant in the bar across the road so being Dr Quinn medicine woman she took Gemma by the hand to find relief for her burns! The bar owners thought they were both crazy, til they saw Gemma's raw red shoulders, and Gemma was so thankful for the coolness of the aloe vera goo!

We order our last round and the bar girl is like, "I'll try to make them (mai thais) but I'm not sure", turns out they had run out of limes, but we soon solved that, by sending Rosie over to her Aloe Vera bar to get 2 limes in return for 10 Baht! The bar girls in our bar thought this was hilarious, but we got our Mai thais, so that's all that matters!!

2am, some elbow lickin' (yes I actually DID IT! after 20 years trying!!)) and 4 potent Mai Thais later, I especially feel worse for wear, and we go to bed setting our alarm clocks for 7AM!!!! to get up for a day trip in the morning! Hangover Devil please Spare me, PLEASE!!!
