My Visayas Trip was definitely one of the best adventure trips I ever had. I can really say that this is one for the books. I went there with my two classmates from DLSU, Phibbie and Shiela. It was definitely a spontaneous trip since we just booked our trip in the middle of a class. We were just looking for a cheap flight in the Philippines. We did not even know what was in Bacolod. We booked our trip and just paid a 1000 Pesos or 20USD.
On our first Day we went to Bacolod and toured around the city. We went to The Ruins which is definitely a must see historical place. The ruins before was a Spanish house built by the colonizers. Our ancestors were alarmed so they burned the house so that Bacolod would not be conquered. Now this has become one of Bacolod’s Tourist Destination. After that we went to the famous Manukan. Where we ate the famous Bacolod Inasal. It was really good and better than Mang Inasal . We ate the chicken inasal with our bare hands. What is special about this delicacy is that we mixed some toasted garlic, iodized salt and chicken oil with the plain rice. Now that is what you call instant fried rice. We only spent 150 pesos for 2 orders of pecho(chicken inasal with rice and drinks). This is what you call a good meal. After that we tried eating cakes from Calea Restaurant which is located beside L’Fisher hotel where we stayed. We ate delicious cakes like their mouth watering mud pie, chocolate cake and strawberry cheesecake. After food tripping we decided to explore Bacolod’s Night Life. We went to a Bar with a live Band. It was very entertaining. After that we slept in our hotel.
On the next day we enjoyed our breakfast in our hotel then we went to Iloilo. When we got to Iloilo the first thing we did was go the famous Iloilo museum where we learned about their history. After that we went to Iloilo famous churches like the Jaro Church and Molo Church. Then we ate the famous Ted’s Batchoy. Their batchoy is a must try since it is more delicious than the Ted’s here in Manila. After eating our lunch we went to Guimaras. It will only cost you 12pesos to go there. Our Guimaras trip was definitely memorable because we were not used to a province like that since we were city girls. We did not know what to expect from Guimaras. We went to our hotel just to change our outfit. We hired a tricycle to drive us to Macopo Falls. Before you go to Macopo Falls you will first hike this very deep road which will take you about 30 minutes but it is truly breath taking when you go here. After that we climb 30 minutes again to go back to our trycicle. We were so exhausted that we ordered the trycicle driver to take us to the nearest beach. We then went to Rayman Beach Resort. This resort is public but we still had fun because we swam even if it was raining. We swam with our “salbabidas “ which can be rented for 50 pesos for the whole day. After swimming we ate in the resort. We ordered Grilled Liempo, Grilled Bangus, Grilled Chicken and also rice with soft drinks which only cost 450 pesos. Not bad for hungry girls. After that we went back to our hotel but our trycicle ride was definitely memorable since there were no street lights in Guimaras and it was heavily raining it took us 30 minutes from the Beach to our Hotel. We were just praying to be safe and hope for the best. After that we slept and woke up the next day and bought pasalubongs for our family. We bought Mangoes from the market and it tasted really good. In my 20 years of eating this fruit I have never seen mangoes that big and also that cheap. After our adventure trip in Guimaras we decided to go back to Iloilo and then go back to Bacolod. Were we ate inasal again in Chicken House. The Chicken House Resto serves delicious Inasal. After buying Pasalubongs in Bacolod we went back home. I can truly say that this was an Adventure of a Lifetime.
