The title of this blog entry is how you say 'I dont understand' in Hungarian. This is basically the only phrase I knew and could use hahaha. The kids at the camp were so so cute but didnt seem to grasp the idea that I could not understand anything they said. Every day they would come up and ask questions and I would just look at them and smile or laugh or say 'Nem er tem' and they would always look up at me with the most confused face!! haha I had a good laugh about this with Sina after the camp was over as we imagined all of the possible things the kids could have said or asked and how funny it was that my answer was always 'I dont understand'. For eg:

Kid: excuse me can i go to the bathroom
me: i dont understand

Kid: whats your name again
me: i dont understand

Kid: what time is it
me: I dont understand

kid: is it nap time now
me: i dont understand

kid: can i have some more food
me: i dont understand

kid: you're funny
me: i dont understand

haha!! they must have thought i was so stupid, not understanding them when they thought i clearly spoke hungarian because everyone does. it was just funny reflecting on that because they just didnt get it that i was from someone else and only spoke English. I even tried to say 'me, English, only!' hahaha it just made us laugh so hard to think about all these would have said my one response. but i seriously had an awesome time at the camp. it definitely was hard work and very tiring but i really miss all the kiddies now!! unfortunately i was feeling sick one of the days so i had to come home early but that gave me a chance to get some extra rest and be ready for the last day when the kids had to do a special performance for the parents to show all they had learnt. oh wow i just cant describe how adorable they all are!! then after we had a party and it was a lovely end to the camp. That night we went home and me and Sina were absolutely dead!! we went to be at 9pm and could not stay up any longer!
the next day we got up and Brett and Sina took me into Pecs the city. We got the bus and had the most awesome day. We walked around and they showed me heaps of cool parts of the city and then we visited some cool vintage and retro shops and i just wanted to buy it ALL! one shop was my favourite and i just could have spent the whole day in there but didnt want to make brett and sina wait too long haha! then we got some delicious turkish food for lunch and then walked around more and also went to this awesome tea house. There is a nice garden and inside are all these bean bags and pillows on the ground around little tables and we had some yummy tea and cake! they played heaps of nice chilled music and it was nice to relax there with some tea!! Then that night we went home and hung out with Reka (the lady who ran the camp as is also their next door neighbour) at the house and also watched the dvd Furious Love. I was so into it and they both liked it but were so tired and fell asleep.
The next morning we had church and it was interesting to see an English preacher who has to be translated into Hungarian, that was cool! Then that day we just hung out and relaxed, i had to organise and book some of my last hostels! woo! all booked now! and had to plan the rest of my 5 weeks in Europe and then we hung outside in their beautiful yard and watched the view and had more tea and muffins and just chilled out. That night i had to pack as i was leaving the next day and after that we went over to Rekas house for some food and to play with the kids and then we had to put the kids to bed after a few hours of them climbing all over us and being crazy haha and so we took them into the room and we all prayed together and they prayed the cutest prayers for me! The little boy Marci, thanked God for me being there and prayed I would come over every day and thanked God that I was funny! hahahah this was all in Hungarian so i was told the translation later but even in the moment all I could hear was kosenum (thankyou) and Hayley so i knew he was thanking God for me. I also sung them a song that me and my brother and sister made up when we were young called 'its bed time now' and it was so funny because i wouldnt ever think i would be singing that to other kids but it was great because it was in english so they could learn some more.
That was a beautiful night, i really loved those kids and Reka and her husband Atilla and they are such a beautiful family and then me and Brett and Sina went back to the house and hung out a bit more. I feel so blessed to have been able to stay with them and to have met all of those wonderful people, all the work they are doing there is so amazing and just felt honoured to have been able to volunteer and help them out a bit. I will constantly be praying for Sina and Brett and their wonderful ministry and told them im definitely coming back one day! and ill also be praying for Reka and her family, particularly for Reka to use her position as an English teacher to be witnessing to all of the children she teaches and all of their parents. It was so cool because we taught the kids 'hes got the whole world in his hands' and it was great because its an English song but also gave us the chance to tell them about God (well Reka told them in Hungarian haha).
It was so touching to see them perform for the parents and hopefully they understood what they were singing. Reka also gave me an opportunity to speak to the parents (she translated) about what I was doing there and for me to talk a bit about God which was amazing. I felt like I didnt do so great but I will not doubt the Lords power and I never know what seeds he may have planted or will be growing in those parents hearts. I will continue to pray for all of them!!

So the next day I left real early to get a bus to Budapest and then a train to Salzburg. I got up around 5am and left by 6am. Reka very very kindly drove me to the bus stop and helped me get on the right bus! ONce again, the Lord provides all I need to get somewhere safely and smoothly. It was a long day of travelling, almost 10 hrs of busses and trains and at 5pm I arrived in Salzburg.
There i was to meet my aunty but she was a little late and so I was looking around trying to find the main entrance to the station in hope of finding her. I walked around and tried out my german and tried to ask these two boys if they spoke English, they looked at me weirdly and then looked at each other and laughed so i took that as a no. Then i found an information desk and they said there was only 2 small entrances so i looked at both and my aunty wasnt there. So i went back to the entrance i walked out of and was about to ask someone else for help and then i heard "Hayley!!" and I turned around and there she was.
It was so awesome to see a familiar face again! I then saw my 2 little cousins and my uncle and we drove through Salzburg and to the mountains in a place called Rauris. What a spectacular drive!! I was so excited at all that surrounded me and still am as I look out my window now. I never knew Austria was so amazing!!!! If it wasnt for my relatives I dont think I would have come here!! It was an hour and a half drive and so we got a chance to catch up and i told them about some of my travels and then we got to where we were staying. I was speechless. The view from our hotel is amazing!!!!!!! My uncles sister owns a hotel here so we are staying with her and the surroundings are just breathtaking! Every time I look outside or go out side i am just amazed. I forget I am in such an incredible place and then am pleasantly reminded!! So we got here and then had some dinner here, oh man the food is amazing too!!! All homemade by my uncles sister - by the way this is my uncle by marriage so my aunty is my dads sister. Then me and the boys went to play outside and one of the boys accidentally bounced the ball down the hill. He had only gotten the ball that day so was really upset, i searched for so long but couldnt find it. I was literally crawling all over this very steep hill on my hands and knees and couldnt see it anywhere. we almost gave up but then I prayed and had one last look and we got it. THANKYOU LORD! its great that he is a God who cares even about the littlest of things and I assured the boys that he does hear our prayers and he does care!
Then we went and watched the sound of music haha!! we had to! we are there! it was exciting to watch because everything that they see in the movie and all the backgrounds they shoot in the film is exactly what its like here, if not better!!
So then yesterday we went on a hike up a mountain and same with today and I just cant tell you enough how incredible it is here. I also had my first iced coffee, so so yum!
DEFINITELY a place I recommend and a place im coming back to. Its so amazing and I feel so blessed to be here because once again its a nice escape from the big cities. Its so peaceful and quite and just the most amazing views ever! I love the countryside!!! But tomorrow im back to the city haha. We are driving into Salzburg early and they are going to show me around Salzburg (yay!)and then im getting a train to Vienna where ill be staying for a few nights, will probably only get one full day to see it but its all I need/want haha.
Also, tomorrow marks the half way point of my trip. so weird. but cool. and sad. and HAPPY. and everything. ha!

okay i would also like to share a few verses I have been reading in Luke lately. These verses in particular have stood to me so I would like to share them. because lets face it people, God is SO SO GOOD. and his word is... POWERFUL! And i will share a few comments to them if you dont mind 😊

Luke 11:11
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
- how awesome is that to think about. If we can give good gifts to each other here on earth as humans and sinners how much better are the God of Heavens gifts to us! His Holy spirit, is so precious and powerful and amazing and we can have access to it by asking God.

Luke 12:11
“When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
- always an encouraging verse that I think applies to whenever we are speaking to others about Christ, we must not focus on what we are saying or how we will say it but just let the HS teach us and guide us. (Something i need to remember especially after being able to share in Hungary).

Luke 12: 27
“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
- We need not worry, if God even looks out for and clothes the grass, how much more will his clothe and take care of and provide for his children!! He knows we need all that we do and as long as we are seeking his kingdom he will give all that we need to us. INCREDIBLE REMINDER.

Luke 14:11
For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
- this is just cool, and not to mention such wise words from the J-man. great news guys! we now know that we are not supposed to exalt ourselves and put ourselves first all the time but we are to HUMLBE ourselves in EVERY opportunity and when we do we will be repaid when it counts most. such a tough thing to do and learn and we should know it takes time. so we may aswell start now! we should not give and expect to be repaid, this life isnt about being great in the eyes of the world or successful but to be humbled because thats what Jesus is looking for, humble servants.

Luke 10:2-3
He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves."
- we have all heard this one before, but its so true. God is just waiting for more workers! For more humble servants! because the harvest if plentiful and ready to be worked. He is sending us out like lambs amongst the wolves. I feel like that sometimes particurlarly on this trip, out in the world with no home to ran back to haha. out in the darkness trying to be the light. its totally hard work and all Christians have to face this struggle but the good news is that the lambs ALWAYS have the shepherd to protect us and be with us side by side.

A cool picture from church on sunday was the preacher using an example of him being in Africa (as he runs a bible school there). He said that when one person wants to get from one town to the other because there are no street signs you have to get someone to take you, someone who knows the way. The preacher used this example as the man taking us to the next place is Jesus, he stays with us the whole time and we trust he knows the best way to lead us. We shouldnt go our own way and try and make it outselves but we should trust his way, even when the road gets rough and we struggle, we never leave his side because he always knows best and is always with us and protects us, even when things may go wrong or not the way we had hoped or danger approaches, we stick by him and he leads us the way he had planned, and he has always done the best for us even when we may have not being able to see it.

Just a cool picture I could relate to particularly at this time, I must now leave again and get a good sleep so i can get up early tomorrow and go to Salzburg the city. I hope you have got this far haha and enjoyed this episode of Hayley is a freak and is out to show the world.
Peace to you all my friends!
drop me a line if you feel like being cool.

you forgot the flip side of 'not understanding'...the kids not understanding what their t-shirts say in English! Yesterday i was babysitting Marci and his shirt said "0 to trouble in less than 60 seconds!" and i thought, oh yeah, that one is right on! haha.
