Hey, so do i have a tail or two for you guys?!

Leaving Lembongan was a sad day to say the least. Up early for our departure, we got to see little Beema before he left for school and have a bite to eat with Kenya and Weta before we had to say goodbye. Walking from that Home stay (Made Inn) was actually like leaving home. i felt honestly upset. they had been great to us. Thank you Both and we will see you again soon.

Waving from the boat as we drift out to the open sea i hear a bang. I thought someone had fallen from the boat but casey ( as she was jumping out of the boat window to scramble to the top) shouts "THE BOAT IS ON FIRE!!!". i look up past where Casey was sitting two seconds ago to see the boat crew hitting at a fire in the engine right next to 4 or 5 big fuel drums. Holy shit... out the window i went. After a good telling off and control was gained the Local lads simply laughed it off, cranked the one engine they had left and away we went. i must say thay the remainder of the trip was a little distressing!

Arriving back in Sanur Casey and i were greated by our taxi who would be our lift to ubud for a couple of days. To be honest, Ubud was not our cup of tea. Way to land locked for our webbed feet!

So we stayed in Eka's homestay which again is mentioned in the lonely panet. i dont really have to much of a story about ubud other than the room was nice enough, we rented a bike for the two days we stayed and we ate four times a day out of boredom. if you are a Yoga fan or a writer then i think it is perfect but we were all for a beer on the beach at this point so we didn't give the place a fair go. Next time UBUD.

After Ubud we had plans for Lombok beginning with the Gili's. now this is supposed to be a great plce for diving so up we got and off we went. the usual 12 hour SE asian journey later we arrived to be greeted by Nieky and Fleur who we staying in the guest house we had already booked. This was great to see them. so the mood was set. Bintang oclock and Arak attack for desert.

For three days whilst the guys were still on the island with us Casey and I snorkelled loads and drank a heap of Bintang. The mood of the place is amazing. Our room was a block/Bamboo two story tree house that was very simple. Nina's was the name. the island itself has no roads, only sand pathways with people dotted about the place, diving, snorkelling, taking horse and cart trips, and eating with the locals. its a must.

The snorkelling is better than the diving though and we we defenately found out the hard way. we paid for a dive to Turtle reef and saw one turtle. We swam from the beach with a mask and snorkel and spotted 8 turtles in Half an hour within a hundred meters of swimming. need i say more. The aquatic life is much the same in the shallows and the coral is better shallow also. if your a keen diver, have a few but i promise, the snorkelling is sweet!

So after the Guys moved on from the isand Casey and i stayed for a while simply eating our way through the lazy days and washing the nasi down with cold bintang. The one thing looming in the back of our minds however whilst enjoying the beer was the up and coming trip. Across the water Rinjani mountain looks down at the Gili's out sizing everything in its view apart from Agung on the neighboring isand, Bali. We were to climb it in a few days with Nieky and Fleur.

Until then i hope you are all having a great time at home. i will write again after the trek....

Salamat Datang

Love to you all
