A relaxing way to spend Easter Sunday Happy Easter everyone. We hope you all had a great day.
Today was another great day. We thought we would have a relaxing and quiet morning until we discovered there was a steam train departing from Llanfair going into Welshpool. Steve and I had hoped that we may be able to have a ride on the steam train so we quickly got organized and then Carrie kindly dropped us to the Station.
The little steam train took us along the river and through the fields and into Welshpool. The trip took about 50 minutes and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We were met in Welshpool by Uncle Roy and Aunty Gwen who, very kindly, took us out to lunch at the Lakeside Golf Club. We had a wonderful lunch and were absolutely spoilt. THANKYOU AUNTY GWEN AND UNCLE ROY. (Mum, you would have been amazed at the enormous size of the yorkshire puds, you too Mike T.)!! - see picture.
After having a delightful lunch and a lovely walk around the club we drove to Montgomery Castle to walk around the ruins and take in the views from the hilltop.
I had great fun pushing Aunty Gwen around in her wheelchair, I
hope she enjoyed herself too. It was a bit concerning when I got the wheel of the wheelchair caught in the timber bridge!!! Steve managed to pull us free though. LOL
We then drove back to Carrie's. Carrie's daughter, Sophie and her boyfriend Tom had driven down from Leeds for Easter Sunday and we all sat in the Sun and painted eggs which we later rolled down the hill. (A bit of Easter fun!!)
Carrie cooked us all a lovely dinner tonight - Thankyou Carrie x
