Ever wonder why we think we have it all together when really we are not in control of the final outcomes. I find it so funny that we painstakingly plan, toil and stress over so so many things in this life that in the end tend to work out for good. Of course, our initial choices do play a role in our personal level of satisfaction in regards to the outcomes. Let me take you on my journey of highlights regarding some of my final outcomes for the week.
I visited Insadong with my Hanji instructor, Sangsil. We enjoyed lunch and visited a few art galleries. She introduced me to the bus transit system. I personally still prefer the subway. After lunch she directed me to the subway entry for my home destination. I got on the Korail headed in the right direction. Please note I am a work in progress as I learn to better understand the Korail routes. My understanding of the map showed where the Korail would allow for me to connect to line 4 at Yongsan station. Okay so I didn't find the right connection. You must open the video to appreciate 10 minutes of being
the only person on the Korail. Great learning experience!! The blessing in all of this was that I enjoyed my adventure and found my way home by trusting in someone other than myself.
My next fun highlight begins with the initial thought of preparing Matt an amazing dinner with the ambiance of candles and red wine. I begin by preparing pumpkin pie. As the pie needs to bake for an hour I chose to go downstairs and get in some exercise. Great workout! Returning back to our apartment everything is going fantastic. I feel awesome and the pies aroma is mouthwatering. Made an amazing salad and placed in the refrigerator. Set the table and poured the wine. Now it is close to 7 pm, perfect time to start the Fettucini. Cooked the fettucini and added the mushroom alfredo sauce. It is time to pull out the pie from the oven. With my mitts in hand I reach in and gently begin to lift the foil pan and then it happens. The pan buckles, the pie flies, splattering the oven door, cabinet and floor. A moment of panic, I am thinking, 'oh my goodness where do I begin'. Now I
must go to my zen moment, I begin to think creatively about how best to attack this challenge before me. Bucket of water, gloves, spatula, ziploc bag, etc...you get my drift. Decided to sip on the wine as I am cleaning. By the time I finished cleaning the mess I had drank one glass of wine, it was now close to 8 pm and no hubby had yet arrived. My wonderful pasta had become glue so I just decided to take a nice hot bath by candlelight and enjoy another glass of wine. Awwww....the relaxing moments in life. Matt had an extremely tough day so I really felt bad the dinner had taken a turn for the worse. He graciously ate the glued fettucini and salad. I too savored the taste as this was better than nothing. Blessed to have such a forgiving hubby and a nice tub to relax in. Oh, let me not forget the delictable red wine.
In my journey I learned once again the importance of relaxing and going with the flow. God truly has instilled in me a wonderful sense of humor throughout my varied trials and tribulations. I actually talked with him and
shared I knew he was in control of my unexpected outcomes.
On another note, spring has sprung in Seoul. We enjoyed the beauty of the Cherry and Magnolia blossoms. The two lovebirds were an added special touch to showing signs of spring.
Sending my best wishes and blessings your way. May each of you enjoy your outcomes no matter what they might be. Search for the positive in all things. Hugs!
