SEMENGGOH NATURE RESERVE
Rescued injured and abused wild orang utan are rehabilitated for a life in the wild but because there isn't sufficient natural jungle in the surrounding area to provide enough food for those released, they are offered supplemental feeding everyday. There is no interaction between the reserve staff and the animals, as the idea is to have them live as natural a life as possible. The food is dropped for them, and they choose whether or not to partake. If there is enough food in the forest only one or two may come. We were very fortunate to have seen two different clans, 11 animals in total, including 2 moms and their babies.
