The last few months were interesting.
All kinds of things going on in Samara.
Most of the people who live here were very happy to learn that they were going to build a Pali. That is a supermarket, not the fanciest one but it has the basic food supplies and for a cheaper price.
Living on the beach is not cheap, we know that now. But you get to meet all kinds of interesting people that's for sure. And hanging out with the locals is very much fun for us.
They also built a Gym and Spa in town. In the morning we'll say, let's go to the gym, okay ! we would take Shasta and walk around to the Gym and back and NOT go in there. We did check it out once but decided that we are to lazy to actually go use all the equipment they have there. Besides walking with Shasta on the beach is more
fun to us, so that's what we do.
Christmas was nice although it's still weird to be in the tropics wearing shorts and shirts during that time. We don't have the Christmas spirit if you know what we mean. But we made ourselves a nice dinner and had a good time.
Also during that time the Fiesta's started here in town. They build a bull ring where they do rodeo's every night. And it was very close to us, which was good and not so good. The good thing that it's nice to see all the people passing by. The not so good thing is that they have these cannons going off all the time. In the morning and afternoon. Nobody knows exactly when or why ??? but it scares the #&*(#^# out of you, especially Shasta. Not only him but all the dogs and monkeys were scared of it. But nobody got hurt and we all survived it, without severe ear damage.
Our favorite Italian restaurant Gusto opened a place on the beach. Willeke made all the pillow/mattress cases for them, like 16 or so. Hubert had to help because the fabric was pretty heavy, but
it turned out very nice. In return we had a nice dinner on New Year's Eve at Gusto Beach and free drinks all evening.
Shasta made a lot of dog friends in town, and we made a lot of people friends. It's nice to go outside and say Hola to everybody, but that can be exhausting too sometimes haha....
We went to Bocas del Toro - Panama in the Caribean. So next time we'll see you there.
Adios y hasta luego
