My most terrifying experience yet. Trying on a Brazilian bikini in the bathroom, with 5 Brazilian women waiting outside. First of all I thought they had given my the sized wrong bottoms, or that I was supposed to floss with them or something, but fortunately Yvonne had warned me last minute about the dangers of the Brazilian Bikini, the now immortal words which were repeated in my head in that bathroom in Salvador. Back or front, it's a choice. I really wasn't up for that choice and did contemplate climbing out of the window but there was no where to go. So I crept out with my hands over my butt, to which everyone turned around a showed my how much they were showing, so I thought I would go with the flow and am now the proud owner of not one but two Brazilian bikinis.

I had another lovely day with Dani's family. We celebrated her friend's birthday with steak and beer and a dip in the pool. They were wonderful yet again and I was sad and nervous to leave the heavenly haven which is Sonia's home and head into the city of Salvador. I felt a wretch again at having to leave somewhere behind and my little heart was beating very fast as we entered the bright lights of the city. As I started to panic that I didn't have a map, my mobile costs me a small fortune and I can barely speak a word of Portuguese, Nada (Fred's girlfriend) asked if I wanted to go to the beach with her tomorrow. Did I?! Oh yes! So I was back on cloud nine again and could sleep soundly that night.

So today, I have been spoilt again, after a lovely breakfast of fresh fruit we headed to the beach at Porto de Barra, a beautiful beach that I was able to enjoy with the company of Nara. I was just relaxing in the sunlounger with my eyes closed thinking how my trip to Thailand seems so easy now compared to Brazil and how once I get through living here and my travels, I will feel like I can do anything, when WHACK, the umbrella fell over and the metal bar hit me straight on the nose. Well, firstly I thought someone had hit me and then when I realised what it was, I thought my nose was broken it hurt so much. I just thought, brilliant, black eyes in all my photos. But despite giving me the fright of my life and a little reminder that you just don't know what will happen next, I escaped my a little red mark. Very lucky!

Poor little thing kept asking me in Portuguse why I spoke English, all I could say was that it's because I am English, to which he replied 'why?', but I didn't know enough Portuguese to answer. This went on for two days. Hopefully next time I see him I will be able to explain a little better.
