A spoiled, snooty little brat... That's my opinion on Montenegro...

Sorry if I come across as giving this place a hard time... Remember though its just my experience... perhaps I just caught everyone on a bad day or 4...

Carrying along the Adriatic coastline south of Croatia... its more of the same prettiness...
No doubt about it, a gorgeous coastline... but you know what... Looks only account for so much in the big scheme of things...
I couldn't help feeling that the locals dont give 2 hoots about tourists visiting their country and in fact they would probably prefer it if you didn't come at all... You're just one mighty big interruption to their day...

Aside from just a couple of positive interactions, I found the Montenegrans on the whole to be a rude, arrogant and highly ignorant bunch with little concept of the tourism/hospitality industry... most especially in Budva... the most popular destination on the Montenegran coastline...

You can have a stunning location, all the luxury, facilities and great food one could ever desire...
But if it's all served to me haphazardly with a scowl and little appreciation for my business then sorry I'm going elsewhere for my holiday...

Interestingly, when I was in Sarajevo, I came across a New York daily which ran a front page story on Montenegro...
It was about how the government was wanting to transform the country into another Monaco... an exclusive enclave for the rich and famous...
Montenegro is not part of the EU, however for around 750K you can actually buy permanent residency in Montenegro...
The concern of other countries however was that those of criminal backgrounds or those with less than honorable business intentions were buying their way in and setting up shop... Hmmm... interesting stuff...

Onto Albania now...

Hello
I have to be honest, I have never heard of this place before. Sounds like I can probably live without any more knowledge of it. It's a shame, when the neighbours are so friendly.
