Into my second week of work and I was only in for two days 😊! This conveniently tied in with a midweek birthday so I didn’t have to worry about getting up the next day after going out on the lash. Also went bowling for the first time in about five years! So was a wee bit rusty to start with (first two goes = 1 pin and gutter ball = shit). Played a couple of games and I managed to rustle up some average scores.

Had nice and sunny weather on the Thursday so I went to One Tree Hill- another volcanic peak - around 180m high that also backs on to Cornwall Park which is really nice and scenic. Unfortunately I couldn’t get my dodgy Cannon camera to get a good picture. After fiddling around with all the modes to see what would look best when blown up on the PC, the only one that came out half decent had someone walking across the picture! (As you can see).

The next day I invested in a Panasonic camera after going to Sylvia park shopping centre so look forward to some better quality pictures!

Day trip to Mangawhai on the Sunday which is a seaside town. Really random weather, constantly changing between rain and sun but that meant I got a great picture of the end of a rainbow! (No pot of gold though). On the way back we stopped at an observational tower and got some nice views.

The next weekend I stayed in Auckland. Nothing too interesting happening. However I did run up a volcano! Was feeling a bit lazy after not really exercising for a good two weeks, so ran to and up Mt Eden (180m high). Didn't think it was too bad as the hardest part was just 2 minutes of pure heavy obese smoker like breathing then I was fine.......so I thought.......my legs are still aching today (two days later!).

Five of us are booked to go skiing (Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd) which I’m really looking forward to. Think I’m going to try snowboarding though (because.....well......you look cooler!). The weekend after I’m in Wellington so I’ll probably do another after that.

Snowboard vs Ski
Leo - come on - get with the programme. Don't you know anything? Skiing is the new cool and snowboarding is for total losers. Don't fall on your arse too much, or break a wrist or two... ;-)
