Bodega!!!
The wine here was fantastic. French Malbec! We were told that one of the goals of this vineyard was to create affordable table wine at a reasonable price for daily consumption. Oooh! They were doing a good job! Here I am in Mendoza! We rolled in this morning on a bus after a 12 hour ride. Well, we found a hostel here, but since it's Semana Santa things are all booked and it's hard to find something good. We're in a place called Campo Base and we ended up having to buy a package in order to stay here, but it works out, since other kids from the program are staying here also. I'm so excited about this experience. It cost us $100 for four nights, a wine tour, a bus tour of the Andes Mountains, repelling, a guided hike, time in a hot spring, AND mid night rafting with the full moon on Saturday night! I am so glad that we're doing this. If I had been travelling by myself I wouldn't have done it since it's more money that I really wanted to spend for the weekend, but I guess once won't kill me. I'm travelling with the girly girls, so I guess I'll just have to deal with it. We're leaving in about 15 minutes for a wine tour. Tomorrow we have the day free and we're going to spend some time with the cousins of
Villa Vicencio
This was one of the first things that we saw on our tour of the mountains. This also happens to be one of the most popular bottled water brands. Randi's host family. We're in a room with 9 beds here. It's us 7 girls, and one poor Aussi guy that was here before we even rolled in. The bathroom is completely co-ed, including the two shower stalls. The only other guy that we've met (in the bathroom, of course!) was Cameron, a wine maker from New Zealand. I'm stoked, and everything is going to absolutely kill this weekend!
