I shall write about some of the nice Poles that I have met since arriving in Poland to balance out the negativity from my previous post.
1. When I wanted to get my monthly tram pass, I had to first get a passport sized photo taken. One of my fellow classmates had a flier that was for a photo place that had a special deal going on, 8 pix for 9 zlotys. That's about a quarter a pix.
So I went to that shop. The man was very nice. He took care of the other customers and then when it was my turn, he shot 4 pix and let me pick the one I wanted.
Next day when I went back, I saw him helping another lady who had her picture taken and he was photoshopping the picture to make her zits go away.
See, nice guy. Bardzo Dobry.
2. When I went down to the place that sold the passes, I had to somehow get across to the lady that I wanted a monthly pass that was good for all lines of the tram, not just one line, not just two lines.
I handed her the english directions that I had received from the school regarding how to get the tickets and I just pointed to the one that read
Monthly pass -- 94 zlotys. She nodded, then she asked me for passport. I didn't have one so I gave her my driver's license. She took it, had to put on her glasses to read the fine print, and she starts chuckling (like what the hell is this for...) and passes it to the lady next to her to help decipher what was on there. They talk talk, laughs, but I don't think at me... i dunno... and then she prints out a card and asks me something. Which I didn't understand. Fortunately, friendly and nice pole
#3 was the lady who was inline behind me.
She told me that they couldn't figure out which was my first name, which was the last, so I needed to write my name out. When everything finally got cleared up, they all smiled and the lady behind me said good luck (because she knew I was going to be staying/struggilng here for a month).
See, I have met nice people, Poles included. :-p
I just tend to write more about the less than positive aspects because this is my place to complain. I'm traveling by myself and I have no one to commiserate with me when shit happens.
Alright. That's it.

Now, that makes sense. Do complain and ignore the complaining.
