Edit Blog Post

So haven't had the chance to update the blog for a while. Currently in Rio, Brazil - an interesting experience.

First of all BA, Argentina what a great city. The people, the look and the feel of the country was so brilliant. The week their consisted of watching football eating steak, going to markets and seeing the sites of the city. We met a english girl Saskia who spoke abit of spanish so she was like our personal tour guide. I went to the San Telmo markets, watched Argentina play in the main part of the city on the big screen and saw Recoleta cemetery (which was out of this world - Evita is buried there). I still find it funny how much we stand out everywhere we go. One main point about BA, Argentina is there are counterfeit 100 peso notes everywhere. You even get them out ATMs (im not kidding), it seems as though the only ones who get given them are the tourists as the locals know as soon as they get them (As we do now). So watch out!

Now in Brazil we have finished up couchsurfing with a guy called Herman who was nice

enough to sleep all 4 of us for free at his house. Here we got to meet some real Brazilians and learn abit about the city of Rio. Yesterday we went and saw Christ the Redeemer which was fantastic. The statue and the view of the city was breath taking.

Currently I am recovering from a big night out in Copa/Ipanema (Not really sure). I really like Rio but it is far too expensive compared to Argentina. The other thing I have found is how little english is spoken compared to Argentina where lots of people speak english.

Well I might just go have a swim at the beach... which is a short walk from our hostel.. so hot today.

Definitely missing home... Will update again soon when we are in a new place (I think we may be heading north tomorrow).

Like the update, Rio sounds like a fun town. Great time to be there with Brazil and Argentina doing so well in the World Cup. Look forward to seeing more photos. I like the one of Evita's grave, very impressive.
