So after several years of waiting and hoping, I finally have been to Paris. Here are some more pictures.

The Hotel Room

This is my hotel room. Very small, but super comfortable. I was on the top floor, so the window afforded an excellent view down the Rue de Canette.

The bathroom was also very small, but smelled amazing. I credit it to the shampoo. I stole two bottles of it to try and make my bathroom smell as good.

The Louvre. This is just the (very very long) east wall.

Lee and I in the first courtyard of the Louvre. It is impossible to capture how utterly massive this building.

In the next courtyard over. A google search for an overview of the palace and how much ground it covers is well worth your time.

One of many pictures I took of the amazingly ornate and grand ceilings that are in nearly every room.

The Mona Lisa. It was insane trying to get close enough to get a decent picture. One Asian man stood there for no less than five minutes continuously taking picture after picture after picture....

The Winged Victory. It is so amazing to see these pieces in person.

An utterly massive painting of Josephine being crowned by Napoleon by David. These paintings were very obviously done for the palace. No place else has wall space enough to house them.

Another gold ceiling. It is a small wonder that there was a revolution when the king lived in such rooms and nearly everyone else was completely dirt poor.

The first time I saw la Tour Eiffel in person!

I almost fell off the tower trying to take this picture. It is suprisingly dizzying looking straight up.

The Alexander III Bridge, my favorite. It is very very long. This was apparently an architectural wonder because it was one of the first bridges to span the river without any supports in the middle.

The Opera-Garnier. So cool.

Inside Notre-Dame. This is also massive inside. It goes up and up and up, the point being, of course, to draw your eyes to God.

What great pictures. I feel like I've been in Paris (except for the good eats).
