Less than 2 hrs left of our 9 hr 18 minute flight. Its not the first time in my life that I’ve wish I received those Schlatter genes for being able to sleep anywhere at anytime. So far I have not been able to sleep at all the past 7 hours, apparently I cannot sleep sitting up. Supper on the plane wasn’t too bad and they are about to serve a breakfast snack. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a very very bizarre movie. When we land in Rome we will be heading out on a bus for about a 2 hour drive to Perugia. I’m excited to land but hope that there will be time a a comfortable place to sleep soon. (or maybe just some reaaaaaaaaally strong Italian Coffee!!!)

After we arrive in Rome about 11:30 this morning we headed to Perugia by van. The drive to Perugia took several hours and took us through the Italian countryside and through these little rolling hills. I tried to stay awake to see what I

could of Rome but finally snuck in some good nap time when we had reached the countryside. The wonderful UNI study abroad office forgot to give our Professor, Dr. Lees the pin number for the credit card that has ALL of our transportation/spending money on it so we had to wait around while he worked at withdrawing enough of his and Charolette’s own money to pay our drivers. We hiked up to our hostel and got settled in. Our hostel is pretty cozy, the boys even scored a balcony in their room. They were glad to see us, and were beginning to get worried about us since the Study Abroad Office reserved the hostel for the 11th. The hostel had even called them after we didn’t show up to see if we were coming!

After getting settled we had some time to walk around and explore Perugia. We ate supper in a restaurant owned by one of Dr. Lee’s friend’s Lucy. The food and was amazing, the wine was fabulous, but the tiramisu was phenomenal! It was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my entire life.
On our way back to the hostel we stopped

in at the internet café and bought internet time. I bought 5 hours for 5 euros that I can use for the next 9 days while we are in Perugia. Hopefully the hostel in Montengnana will have internet or we can find another internet café.

The food at Lucy's restaurant was amazing last night. This wine was from a town nearby Perugia. It was a pretty dry wine but very good!
