Okay, here´s what´s up. I have to be in Managua Thursday and Friday for an editor meeting of the volunteer online zine, Va Pue, of which I am, predictably, the Travel Section Editor.

However, I have been sooooo angry lately, and have been taking it out on Lenin.... and I decided to get the hell out of my community and come to Esteli for Tuesday and Wednesday, and then Managua Thursday and Friday

Hence, it´s Tuesday and I am in Esteli.

I hope after being away for a few days I will go home and be happy to be there. Here´s why I´m angry though. First, Lenin is my example of a great guy. He takes steps to better his life, to save his money, to think about the future. Doesn´t smoke, drink, or gamble and he´s one of the least machisto Latin men I have ever met. And, actually, most of the Torrez cousins are the same. Except two of them. The family is connected. One has literally had jobs thrown at him by his mother and aunts and cousins who all work for the local goverment... and he didn´t want it. He watches TV all day, plays soccer, and eats. That pisses me off. The other cousin is the only Torrez boy who drinks and smokes and gambles. He just had the opporutunidad from his Daddy Hugo (Chavez) and his Uncle Daniel (Ortega) to pay for him to study medicine for 5 years in Papi Fidel (Castro)´s Cuba. And he´s effing up the opportunity. It pisses me off to see two cousins who have Lenin´s, their oldest cousin´s, influence and are effing up their lives. They are no better than any other young Nican.

So I am angry about that. I am stressed because we are counting down to 3 months until the Baade Torrez Boda. I´m pissed about my job and my counterpart talking shit behind my back. I´m angry because no one helps me haul water and, if I was only hauling water for me, three five gallon buckets would get me bathed and mine and Lenin´s clothes washed. But no. I haul for the effing family.

And Lenin and I financed and worked on Mamita´s kitchen. And we finance the majority of the food.

And those stupid free loading cousins are taking advantage! And it pisses me off!

So I left. I am taking a break from all of that. I am going to see about wedding dresses. And bridesmaid dreses. And shirts for the guys. And I´m going to visit Doña Moncha and talk about Lenin and my trip to the States for Christmas and her son and daughter in law´s trip to Nicaragua for Christmas. And I will be taken care of for a night.

And then sometime Saturday I will head back to the Mopo and deal with life again.

But right now I AM ON VACATION.

Hey!
Sorry to hear about the free loaders, babe. Did I ever mention that one Italian saying that goes something like "the mother of the idiot is always pregnant"? She's an international lady, too. NYU is filled with dead weights but at least i don't have to pay for their mistakes or carry water for them. I almost forgot that your big day is coming up! You wouldn't happen to have a registry, do you...... Love, Clo

Hey Hey,...on VACAY!! YAY!!
Yep, yep, Molly, go ahead and vent it out!!!! Then, big breath, then maybe a cry,....THEN BACK TO: the Peace Corps (without whom you, probably, would not have met your wonderful Lenin! ahhhh); to planning a REAL Nican wedding OF YOUR VERY OWN!!; to sharing stories of a cold cold windy windy Missouri Christmas, 2009; to hauling water in buckets (for everyone in your whole family??? humph!........BUT an unintentional TREMENDOUS diet/exercise plan for ANY of us! ahem....more on this when you SEE me and hear my moans while trying to find something nice for your wedding! ha). Anyway, I do hope that you'll be in AC for your EDITOR days in Managua. It'll be even hotter down there, right?? Love you and miss you and can hardly wait to be down there and share in the day as you and Lenin marry! Man, Molly!! What a life you've made for yourself already!!!!!...and still so young!

p.s.
Molly, what is your 'counterpart's' name, again, please. I can hardly wait to meet him, too, and hear all of the improvements he's made while down in the PC in the Nica. He must have a great rapport with the community and his co-workers, huh? ;)
