So we've been in Ho for a few days now... So here's a quick update!
We got here on a very long tro-tro ride, there was a lot of traffic as supposedly friday's are funeral/wedding days so everyone goes off to celebrate (yes they celebrate funerals as well! lots of music to cheer up the family of the bereaved!). The tro was amazing though, air con! its took a good 3-4 hours but when we got to the house we were so relieved! its pretty amazing! Bunk beds, fans, a fridge, tv, stereo, loads of books, 2 showers, 2 toilets and a kitchen! couldn't wish for more!
Satturday we went for a tour of the town, which i a little small but has plenty of bars and restaurants! Saturday night we went out with the crew. They abondoned us in a restaurant saying they didn't like the foord and went to get more local cuisine whilst we had fried rice and chicken and some salad which was amazing! They came back and started quizing us about the tour we'd been on.... we then went over to a bar owned by one of the tour guides aunts. She is a lovely women! Very friendly and welcoming! Whilst we were there though some drunk old man fell and hit his head resulting in the end of the night as he had to go to hospital! I stayed up and played Uno with one of the crew leaders winning 16 games to 6!

Sunday morning Harriet woke up ridiculously early and wen to church whilst i slept! She'll fill you in on what went on!
So I got up at 6 because I had been told that the palms would blessed at 7. Nothing happened untill gone 8! After the bishop had drenched everyone we set off on a 2hr procession, winding our way through HO. All the different parishes walked together each with their own music. Some carried drums on their heads, others had brass bands, made for a very noisy walk! The mass itself was outside under huge tents because there were so many people there. The service was mainly in Ewe but I think I guessed what they were saying... Got lost on the way home, but I eventually found a taxi and arrived back quite exhausted.

Apart from that had a lazy day before the other volunteer came home from Cape Coast! Her names Sophie and she's incredibly nice! We got a chance to go out for drinks with the other volunteers in the village who'd come via different companies.... I'm not going to pretend I remember any names!

Today We went to the school. the headmaster felix was very welcoming and we had a nice chat! He Showed us around before dropping us off in Kindergarten! It was chaos there! none of the teachers were teaching and we ended up playing for a few hours, I have no idea where those kids get their energy! by the end of it we were dying of thirst! We learnt some good games though! (Bambilikco! when we get back we'll do the dance to go with it!) We wandered over to the orphanage for lunch of red red and fried plantain, which harriet cannot get enough of! to be fair it is extremely good! After lunch we had another chat with the headmaster about money which was awkward! but then he dropped the 3 of us off in a classroom and told us to teach them anything we want! These kids were just not interested! It was soo hard! Maybe tomorrow it'll be more structured and less rampage! We tried to get them to play hangman but a lot of them were just not interested and they knew we weren't going to cain them so they went wild!

We're back at the school tomorrow, no clue what class but if its gonna be anything like today we'll be very tired again!
