The group has arrived and we are also enjoying the company and light of Claireji from London who is here for about 10 days. Today, as well as Australia Day, we celebrated India’s National Day with a School performance and a crowd on the grassed area. Some marching, lots of assembly drama items including Mahabharat (one of the major Sanskrit epics of ancient India) stories on the stage and some delicious food.

Cal dressed up for a few items, his favourite costume is attached. Didn’t manage to capture A’s full costume with the camera though he had his share of the light as entertainer and being entertained. Have kept the local tailor busy making costumes while also been up late sewing myself, most nights this week, such as a ‘Say No To Plastic’ banner that we used for one of the drama performances with the children. Its part of the Earthkeepers project I’m working on with the school and wider community.

Swamiji has shaken a few things up such as keeping us washing machines permanently on the rinse cycle, also moving our tech office into the otherwise big space that is the Library. It means the old tech office is now a bedroom and there are a few more visitors to the Library. We also have broadband internet… let’s see how long that will last! Swamiji is going to Nipal Ashram tomorrow. There are a few sick people here that will take the opportunity to rest a bit and maybe not feel they need to publicly work through the ailments.

I lost my assistant worker to the Office (which has been seeking extra help for some time now) so I'm back to being the only foreigner in the school. The extra help in School was good for many reasons and especially having someone to reflect with on how things are there. Now that I’m back to just myself as the token foreigner, I think it means I’ll take on some extra classes and have another opportunity to accept things as they are and that I can’t do everything…. even though the potential there is SO ginormous…. Will start with some Drama a few afternoons a week in the school to involve more of the children…. will be lots of fun.

It's really warming up, in every respect.
