We have already had so many adventures I am thinking this blog is more of a way for us to remember than anything else. On Monday we arrived in Khai Sok National Park, the park is a jungle covering 738 sq km. We got a taxi from Bang Niang and had the driver swing by the Police Boat,- the boat had been picked up and tossed approximately 4 miles in the Tsunami and now stands as a memorial.
Our taxi driver was nice enough to drive us to a couple different accommodations until we found a place with tree houses that we liked. We stayed at Arts Riverside Lodge next to the monkey watering hole. We quickly changed and went on a hike through the jungle to see some waterfalls. The water was pretty low and with the dwindling day light we only made it to a couple "waterfalls" which were more like what we would call rapids if the water was higher. We didn't have time to make it to the waterfalls with swimming holes because who wants to be caught in the dark, in the jungle. Then we went for dinner- we wee waited on by a
12 year old who managed to not order James's dinner (probably had his night shift at Nike to think about) so we complained, a waitress said they were making it and another 20 minutes passed with no sweet and sour chicken. So, we spoke to the waitress again who told us we already got the order ?!? So, we asked for the bill, made sure the chicken was not added and went across the street to PAWNS for dinner #2. That night we sat on the porch of our tree house and watched the stars and drank Chang.

Brrrr that open air/waterfall shower was cold. Well, what do you expect in the jungle, right? After breakfast we walked into town, scheduled our ride back to Phu Ket airport and went on a canoe trip down the Sok River. Each two people got their own inflatable canoe and a canoe man. We paddled 6 km down the river looking at the jungle from the other side. Bamboo trees, rubber trees, butterflies, limestone cliffs, snakes, a monitor lizard and when we got to the end two chained pet monkeys. I am not a huge monkey fan so I just watched
from a distance as they climbed all over Christophe, he seemed to enjoy it. We went back to our tree house just in time to see like 40 monkeys swimming, humping, eating and playing, so I guess "monkey watering hole" was not just a sales gimmick. That night we had dinner at what can only be described as a truck stop- it had gas pumps and was outdoors- but the food was good and spicy. Then we hit KARAOKE or a the sign said SOK AOKE- they had 24 songs in English and you had to pay 5 BHT for one song. Mike thought he was picking "Love Me Do" but it was actually that ever so popular tune "Love Me, Love My Dog"- none of us had ever heard that song before so I think he Killed it! I sang "Love Potion Number 9" and "Moon River".

Pretty uneventful day- after breakfast and watching some monkeys at their watering hole James and I got our ride back to Phu Ket Airport (2.5 hours) then our plane back to Bangkok (1 hour) and a taxi to he Sky Hotel- oh and I forgot to mention I left my
cash card in the ATM the night before- the bank man didn't come to that town until noon so if we had had a day longer I would have got it back- I asked them to destroy it and am planning on getting a new one sent to Sydney. We did some shopping in the Bangkok madness- went down a side street to escape the madness and managed to come across a really romantic restaurant. They had citronella on every table for you to apply against mosquitos (it didn't work). Then we went back to the hotel, had hot baths, put on our sky hotel robes and made it an early night to prepare for Bali.
